Videos: RFK Jr., William Kristol, Gen. John Batiste, Stephen Colbert
Today on CNN Late Edition, retired Army General John Batiste said there was a “direct link” between allegations of serious misconduct against Iraqi civilians at Haditha and the “bad judgment” of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld in 2003 and 2004. Batiste explained that Rumsfeld’s war plan left troops “under-resourced [and] overcommitted.” The result was an “unbelievable” strain on U.S. forces. Watch it:

VIDEO - Stolen Election: Robert Kennedy Debates GOP's Terry Holt on CNN
Wolf Blitzer hosted a debate on CNN's Situation Room between Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Bush Press Secretary, Terry Holt. In his Rolling Stone article Kennedy shows that Republicans prevented 350,000 voters from voting or having their votes counted.
Blitzer allowed a more civil discussion than did Tucker Carlson in another recent interview with Kennedy. CNN must have decided that an interview with Kennedy -- which would be entirely warranted -- would have appeared partisan. Republicans don't need someone who is uniquely qualified to defend their illegal electioneering in Ohio. Terry Holt can parrot the same tired GOP lies talking points as well as any talking head.

John Kerry Takes Up the Swift Boat Charges
The Minneapolis Star Tribune weighed in on John Kerry’s renewed fight against the Swift Liars with an editorial on Saturday, saying, “We’re glad Kerry is undertaking this effort.
Last Thursday, when John Kerry was in Los Angeles he sat down with a group of bloggers for an intimate chat about the issues of the past and the present. Among the subjects that came up was the recent NY Times piece about Kerry fighting back against the Swift Liars or as SteveAudio put it, the “Swift Boat Bastards from hell.”

Give the Defense Department an F
IF THE UNITED STATES is to win in Iraq, it needs an honest and objective picture of what is happening there. The media and outside experts can provide pieces of this picture, but only the U.S. government has the resources and access to information to offer a comprehensive overview.
But the quarterly report to Congress issued May 30 by the Department of Defense, "Measuring Stability and Security in Iraq," like the weekly reports the State Department issues on Iraq, is profoundly flawed
Climate chaos: Bush's climate of fear
Some of America's leading climate scientists claim to Panorama that they have been censored and gagged by the administration.
One of them believes the publication of his report, which catalogues the unprecedented rate of ice melt in the Arctic, was delayed as Americans prepared to vote in 2004.
Military still hasn't corrected official Haditha statement which conflicts with evidence, witnesses
The military still hasn't corrected the official statement released last November of the events in Haditha even though it is "at odds" with the evidence, reports The Washington Post in its Sunday edition.
On November 20, 2005, one day after the killings, U.S. Marine Corps spokesman Capt. Jeffrey S. Pool issued the following statement from a military base in Ramadi:
"A U.S. Marine and 15 civilians were killed yesterday from the blast of a roadside bomb in Haditha. Immediately following the bombing, gunmen attacked the convoy with small-arms fire. Iraqi Army soldiers and Marines returned fire, killing eight insurgents and wounding another."
