9/24/05 H.L. Attends Anti-War March in L.A.
Just got back from the L.A. Anti War March and Rally. A very impressive crowd of about 10,000 showed up. The March went from Olympic and Broadway to the Federal Building about a mile away, I took the train and walked down to 9th and Broadway, and met up with the Bartcop sign makers. Bart gave them money to make the signs, which they were giving out for free to anyone who wanted one.
After I hung out there and took the pics I headed over to where the March was starting,
There were lots of Shady Characters around.
Then the March began, I ran into John Lennon.
Then much to my surprise who should show up but Bush, and Cheney themselves.
The Veterans for Peace we're there, and they made a powerful statement.
The March ended at the downtown L.A. Federal Building where a stage was set up for speakers such as Ron Kovic, the author of Born on The 4th of July, and subject of the movie.
It was a great gathering of the anti-war movement, and the largest march in L.A. since the war started. The event was a great success. Hopefully we won't have to do anymore of these before Bush gets the message, and ends the bloody debacle in Iraq.
