Rita Swirls Into Category 5 Storm in Gulf
Excerpt: GALVESTON, Texas - Gaining strength with frightening speed, Hurricane Rita swirled toward the Gulf Coast a Category 5, 165-mph monster Wednesday as more than 1.3 million people in Texas and Louisiana were sent packing on orders from authorities who learned a bitter lesson from Katrina.
H.Ls Take: So less then a month ago, we suffered category 5 Hurricane, the worst storm imagineable. and now here we go a month later. We used to get a storm that big every 10-20 years, now we get them every month during hurricane season. Yeah but its got nothing to do with global warming, or Pollution from big industry. Noooo Its all just a coincidence. Bush refuses to sign the Kyoto treaty to work with other countries to reduce global warming. We suffer, Halliburton profits. Hey who needs war, they can make money just cleaning up after the Hurricanes.

Rita could equal $5 gas
Excerpt: NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Remember when gas spiked to $3-plus a gallon after Hurricane Katrina? By this time next week, that could seem like the good old days.
Weather and energy experts say that as bad as Hurricane Katrina hit the nation's supply of gasoline, Hurricane Rita could be worse.
H.Ls Take: The storm hasn't even gotten here yet, and already the oil companies are licking their chops, getting ready to start raking in even more profits then ever before. They are probably having a pre hurricane party right now. George W. Bush is the greatest thing that ever happened to them.

Bush insiders: 'we're sunk'
Excerpt: From Pat Buchanan's American Spectator:
But at this stage of the game, barring some imaginative political moves that bear some resemblance to the Bush Administration circa 2002, Republicans on Capitol Hill and even some longtime Bush team members in various Cabinet level departments say this Administration is done for.
"You run down the list of things we thought we could accomplish and you have to wonder what we thought we were thinking," says a Bush Administration member who joined on in 2001. "You get the impression that we're more than listless. We're sunk."...
H.Ls Take: You'd never know it by watching TV News, or reading a newspaper. The Media will still behind Bush, when his approval rating is at 0

Katrina raises voters’ doubts about Bush
Excerpt: With nearly all Democrats and two-thirds of independents soured on his presidency, Bush needs to keep Republican voters happy to avoid a collapse of his ratings. More than 8 in 10 Republicans back Bush, but GOP strategists worry about a decline in enthusiasm as next year’s midterm elections draw near.
For the first time, senior Republican consultants and lawmakers are warning the White House that Bush’s base is perilously close to deserting him.
H.Ls Take: The people are against Bush, and even The Republicans are going against him. The Democrats however are still cowering to Bush though, they will be behind Bush even when his approval raging gets to 0
