Heres The Muhammad Cartoons That Are Causing a Controversy

I’m getting all kinds of hits today through Image Search for something called Muhammad cartoons, I had no idea what it was but since I do a lot of political comics I decided to check it out. From what I have gathered A Danish newspaper called Jyllands-Posten printed some comics last September of Muhammad depicting him a terrorist. It has caused outrage in the Islamic countries. Today some newspapers reprinted the comics which is causing a firestorm of controversary, and heating up internet picture search engines with requests by people who want to see the comics. I looked around and had a tough time trying to find these cartoons but finally I got ahold of them.

Now like I said I have never heard of these cartoons before today, but if you want to see them I am going to put them up. I don’t agree that Muhammad is a terrorist. I really don’t know all that much about him, I am putting the pictures up in the name of a free flow of information, and dialogue. Ok here they are.

I hadn't heard of these comics either. They don't look that offensive. Seems like people love to get so angry whenever anybody messes with their religion. Meanwhile more people have died in the name of God, (or Mohammad, allah, Bush etc.) then for any other reason. Lighten up people.

Thanks for putting these up, I wondered what all the fuss was about.

The images caused offence because devout Muslims believe any representation of the prophet or god is blasphemy.

Lighten up indeed.

Everything in life has its own limits, Freedom of Expression should not be used Make Fun of a Religion nor it should be used to hurt the sentiments of religion.

I condemn this Pathetic Show

Making fun of religion is not freedom. Others should respect it and it has to be that way.I consider it as a crime against the religion!

The cartoons aren't even funny. What's all the hype? I might see some justification for the uproar if the publishers were themselves muslim. You can't expect a non-believer to follow your beliefs, and it's unlikely that the publishers were aware of the alleged prohibition against portraying the prophet's image, at the time.

That's another point: Nobody knows what Muhammad looked like. It's not really even possible to make an image of Muhammad.

A couple of the cartoons were somewhat disrespectful, but all religions have to learn to deal with opposition, or extremists of another kind will label them "dangerous" and start advocating hunting them down.

A couple of them are quite funny actually, but there really isn't that much to get upset about.

If you'd like a metaphor to mull over, what happens if you make fun of the big dumb bully at school?

Or.. another way of looking at it, is what right do they have to force their religion onto others? That is what they are doing by saying that we can't draw 'him' or 'it' or 'her' or whatever either.
There is no international law stating that this was wrong.

Bunch of plonkers really, they should worry about something else, like sorting their nations out.

Good metaphor, I'm off to test the thesis on the nearest supporter of state terrorism. Do you support Bush's War of Terror?

Oh, so someone made fun of them, and now their little feelings are hurt. Let's have a pity party for them.

we as muslims have never made fun out of jesus or moses and even if we did you wouldn't get pissed off because you don't even have respect for your own religion so how can we expect you to respect our religion. and as a female our prophet (PBUH) did more than what you could ever do for us. so before you write a comment think twice coz you're going to get cussed down by every muslim in this world and every animal, who are creatures of allah. (this is not for those who find it offensive)

Whenever an offensive cartoon is published of Jesus or Moses, unlike some Muslims, Christians and Jews don't riot in the streets. There is no excuse for violence over any kind of offensive imagery, reguardless of what religious figure it portrays. If you get offended by something, raise your voices, not your fists.
