George Orwell, Call your office…Its official, 1984 is here, Ok so it showed up about 22 years late, but it has Arrived. Now not only are London streets being monitored by cameras, they actually yell at you and tell you if you are doing something terribly wrong, (like not walking your bike for example). They already have cameras monitoring the corner that I live on, I guess soon they will start yelling at me for spitting in the street.

And if the city centre scheme proves a success, it will be extended into residential areas.

And once it is a success in residential areas the cameras will then be moved into peoples houses, bedrooms, and toilets. Soon you won’t be able to take a dump without the Government watching. (At least they can warn people when they are out of toilet paper) As usual its all in the name of safety. Every time we lose more individual rights (rememeber freedom) they use safety as the reason. If they watch every little thing we do we will be safer right?? Like little babies we need our mommies to watch our every move. God forbid we lose our freedom due to the anti-social behaviour of bicyclists, and bar patrons. Interesting that this story in the Daily Mail did not once mention that someone might have a problem with this, they acted like it was the greatest concept ever concieved. Sad that the media is no so transparent in there never ending shilling for Big Government.

Bush can’t be having people who go against him. Even if that means Incarceration without charges.

U.S. holds AP photographer in Iraq 5 mos

The U.S. military in Iraq has imprisoned an Associated Press photographer for five months, accusing him of being a security threat but never filing charges or permitting a public hearing.
Military officials said Bilal Hussein, an Iraqi citizen, was being held for “imperative reasons of security” under United Nations resolutions. AP executives said the news cooperative’s review of Hussein’s work did not find anything to indicate inappropriate contact with insurgents, and any evidence against him should be brought to the Iraqi criminal justice system….
according to a May 7 e-mail from U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Jack Gardner, who oversees all coalition detainees in Iraq….

“The information available establishes that he has relationships with insurgents and is afforded access to insurgent activities outside the normal scope afforded to journalists conducting legitimate activities,” Gardner wrote to AP International Editor John Daniszewski.

Then why not charge him, put him on trial, and let the evidence show his guilt??? Because the U.S. has no evidence against him. This is just another way to show Iraqis that if they mess with Bush, even in a legal activity such as journalism, that you will be locked up without charges and have your life ruined. Franz Kafka could not have imagined a worse scenario in his worst hallucinations. Once again how long before Bush, and the republicans start doing the same thing to Americans right here in The U.S., Oh yeah I forgot, they already have. But here they can’t really get away with it yet, but give them time. (Or we could vote them out of office)

Anyone who grew up in the Northeast (like me) know about The Yankee/Red Sox rivalry, it is probably the biggest in all of sports. Having a father from New York, and a Mother from Boston, I know all about it. (I’m a Yankee fan of course having grown up in New York.) Nowhere is the rivalry worse then in Connectucut which is right between N.Y. and Massachuttes. Half the state loves the Yankees, the other half loves the Red Sox, but everyone agrees on one thing. Liberman has got to be voted out of office. Here is the new ad.

Mr. Webb responded: “I know what it’s like to be on the ground. I know what it’s like to fight a war like this, and either — there are limits to what the military can do. Eventually, this is going to have to move into a diplomatic environment, and that’s where this administration seems to have blinders. They are not talking to Syria, they are not talking to Iran, and there are ways that we can do this, move this forward.”

Mr. Webb also took several digs at what he called theorists in the administration and among its allies who know combat only in the abstract. Mr. Allen, like the majority of the current Congress, did not serve in the military.

At the Bartcop Pokerfest, and Tequila Party I attended this weekend many of the people who attended lived in Red state rural areas, I heard from one party guest that people down there (Even republicans) are pissed off. Everyone knows that this country is in the toilet, and Republicans will pay the price (except the ones protected by Diebold) this November. Of course most republican voters will admit they were wrong by staying home from the polls rather then voting for a Democrat. Change comes slowly. Of course most won’t admit they were wrong, but we know they were, and they know they were.

Last night The Nation Institute put on a talk at UCLA’s Royce Hall featuring John Dean, the former Presidential Counsel to Richard Nixon, and former New York Congresswoman Elizabeth Holtzman. The event was sponsored by Hamilton Fish, Katrina Vanden Heuvel, and Nation books. There was a reception beforehand where an impressive array of high-powered people who are dedicated to seeing George W. Bush impeached got to exchange ideas with Mr. Dean and Ms. Holtzman.

I got to meet a very nice lady named Norma Barzman, the author of “The Red and The Blacklist” and a new book, “The End of Romance.” Norma was a writer in Hollywood in the 40’s until she was blacklisted, and spent the next 30 years in exile in France. Norma introduced me to Cindy Asner, who is fighting to keep Diebold out of L.A. County.

After we filed into the Royce Hall auditorium Hamilton Fish came out and introduced the guests. John Dean is the author of several books including “Worse Then Watergate” and “Conservatives without Conscience.” He was Nixon’s attorney and the key figure in bringing down his Presidency, and he has studied past impeachments including Nixon, Clinton, and Andrew Johnson. He also served as a guest host to Keith Olbermann during the Clinton impeachment. Elizabeth Holtzman served on the House Judiciary Committee that held the Nixon impeachment hearings, and helped draft the articles of impeachment.

Senate panel defies Bush on terror

In an embarrassment to the White House, Colin Powell — Bush’s first secretary of state — announced his opposition to his old boss’ plan, saying it would hurt the country….

The president’s measure would go further than the Senate package in allowing classified evidence to be withheld from defendants in terror trials, using coerced testimony and protecting CIA and other U.S. interrogators against prosecution for using methods that may violate the Geneva Conventions.

“The world is beginning to doubt the moral basis of our fight against terrorism,” Powell, a retired general who is also a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, wrote in his letter.

Powell said Bush’s bill, by redefining the kind of treatment the Geneva Conventions allow, “would add to those doubts. Furthermore, it would put our own troops at risk.”

Firing back, White House spokesman Tony Snow said Powell was “confused” about the White House plan. Later, Snow said he probably shouldn’t have used that word.

“I know that Colin Powell wants to beat the terrorists, too,” he said.

Bush wants to be able to beat confessions out of people, then withold evidence that may help to exonerate them, AND He wants to change the laws to make this all legal. Why? If these “Terrorists” are guilty then why does he need to have every unfair advantage. Is it so that he can accuse anyone of being a terrorist? Once he does that, there will be no way for anyone to defend themselves. Bush is breaking the law, and finally, even Republicans are saying so.

The truth will eventually find its way out, and when it does. Bush is going to be in a world of S**t.

This guy is running in Florida, so maybe the yahoos down there will defeat him, but if he wins, and shows the hard evidence of Bush’s commission, (you remember the one that said he didn’t have to testify under oath, and he could have Uncle Dick with him to whisper whatever lies, Dick wanted the monkey to tell) People will begin to realize that Bush really is a criminal, that will be the start of the whole S**thouse coming down.

I just got back from a thing I had to go to for a job I am trying to get. I am going to do my writeup of last nights John Dean, Elizabeth Holtzman, event last night at UCLA where they discussed the possibilities of impeachment for Bush.
