EU lawmakers demand to know location of CIA jails
AP
Excerpt:
STRASBOURG, France (Reuters) – European lawmakers demanded on Thursday that their governments reveal the location of secret CIA prisons after U.S. President George Bush admitted Washington held terrorist suspects in jails abroad….
“Bush exposes not only his own previous lies. He also exposes to ridicule those arrogant government leaders in Europe who dismissed as unfounded our fears about extraordinary rendition,” she said.
A European Commission spokesman said there still was no proof of the complicity of any European state.
H.L.s Take:
Wow, AP used the work “Bush” and “Lies” in the same sentence. I bet thats the first time that has ever happened. First Bush sets up a secret prision in Guantanamo, then he sets up secret prisions in Europe witht the help of the CIA. Why does everything that Bush does have to be a secret. Oh yeah because they are illegal. Up next are secret FEMA prisions right here in The U.S. which are already up and running and sitting empty waiting for the day Bush decides to use them on us.

US Losing Control In Iraq Fast
Posted in H.L. News, Main Blog (All Posts) on September 7th, 2006 7:50 am by HL
“It is unknowable how long that conflict will last. It could last six days, six weeks. I doubt six months.†-Donald Rumsfeld. February 2003.
What do you do if you hired someone to do work on your house and they promised to have the work done in 6 months and are still working on it 3 and a half years later?? FIRE THEIR ASSES. (Actually they would have been fired after 7 months, but not these guys. 30 percent of Americans want them to continue F**king up the house forever.
US Losing Control Fast

RAMADI – The U.S. military has lost control over the volatile al-Anbar province, Iraqi police and residents say.
The area to the west of Baghdad includes Fallujah, Ramadi and other towns that have seen the worst of military occupation, and the strongest resistance.
Despite massive military operations which destroyed most of Fallujah and much of cities like Haditha and al-Qa’im in Ramadi, real control of the city now seems to be in the hands of local resistance.
In losing control of this province, the U.S. would have lost control over much of Iraq.
“We are talking about nearly a third of the area of Iraq,” Ahmed Salman, a historian from Fallujah told IPS…
According to the group Iraq Coalition Casualty Count, 964 coalition soldiers have been killed in al-Anbar, more than in any other Iraqi province.. Baghdad is second, with 665 coalition deaths.
Residents of Ramadi told IPS that the U.S. military has knocked down several buildings near the government centre in the city, the capital of the province.
In an apparent move to secure their offices, U.S. Army and Marine engineers have started to level a half-kilometre stretch of low-rise buildings opposite the centre.
H.L.s Take
As reported here yesterday, the war is lost. If there is a way to F**k up, leave it to Bush, and Rumsfeld to find it.

Bush’s “Fear Factor” Goes Local With Help of FBI

Desperate Times (for Bush) Call for Desperate Measures.
Boo! Bush’s “Fear Factor” goes local
Attytood
Excerpt:
Instilling a sense of fear in the American people isn’t just for Donald Rumsfeld and George W. Bush anymore. The government’s 2006 “fear itself” campaign is now coming to a local newspaper or TV newscast for you, courtesy of the supposed apolitical “pros” of the FBI.
Yesterday, there was an unusual terrorism-related event right here in Philadelphia. That unusual event was a federal agency — the FBI, which usually is about as transparent as a moonless night — voluntarily giving out information to the local media. In fact, they actually invited anyone with a camera or notebook to drop by.
Their message: The big 9/11 anniversary is coming. And don’t ever forget to be afraid, not for one moment:
[J.P.] Weis [the special agent in charge of the Philadelphia division] said he knows of no credible terrorist threat in the Philadelphia area. However, he said, the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks provides an opportunity for the government and media to remind people about the danger terrorists pose.
“The greatest danger to America today is complacency,” Weis said. “This is a call to arms for every concerned citizen.”
The word “complacency” was the Tell, the sign that the Philly news conference was not an isolated event, but part of a coordinated Bush-driven PR campaign.
H.L.s Take
On September 11, I am going to duck tape up my sliding glass window that leads out to the balcony, and my front door, put on my Hazmat suit, and spend the day hiding under my bed with a shotgun.

Median Income is Down in 47 States Under Bush
Posted in H.L. News, Main Blog (All Posts) on September 7th, 2006 7:25 am by HL
Here is a state-by-state map of the median income of all Americans in the past 6 years. The median income is the point where exactly half the people make more, and half the people make less, in other words the middle class. You know that huge group of people that Bush and The Republicans don’t give a rats ass about. (they also don’t care about lower income, and upper middle class income, only about the upper upper class income.) George W. Bush, the failure monkey. He has failed at EVERYTHING he had ever tried.
