GOP says Rumsfeld is stepping down

WASHINGTON – Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, architect of an unpopular war in Iraq, intends to resign after six stormy years at the Pentagon, Republican officials said Wednesday.
Word came a day after the Democratic gains in the election, in which Rumsfeld was a focus of much of the criticism of the Iraq war. Officials said Robert Gates, former head of the CIA, would replace Rumsfeld.

Here is a comment of an American Citizen, happy that America is back. Here is a Primer for Republicans and anyone elsewondering what will happen now.

-Get ready for the world to gain respect for America again and become willing partners in the war on Terrorists.
-Get ready for a balance of power in government! We will return to three equal branches. Our founding fathers provided us with this gift and it prevents tyranny of the masses. Once again, it worked!
– Get ready for Freedom of Religion to return! Christianity is popular but intelligent beings understand that you cannot force one religion on others in a society that truly values religious freedom.
-Prepare yourself for the return of an Ethics committee in Washington. Despite Delays attempts to shut it down, the people have spoken and we want it back.
– Lobbyists- we are tired of the K Street project and your easy access to the office of President and any other Republican that you need to effect favorable legislation. Corruption has grown exponentially and Democrats want it to stop. Now.
– Get ready for leadership that will actually investigate and respond to Global Warming.
– Science is back! NO longer will we allow religious zealots to dictate teaching religion in Science classes.
-Get ready for competent, effective leadership in key positions (FEMA, UN, etc) based on qualifications instead of loyalty to the regime.
-If you are ultra wealthy, get ready to begin paying your fair share of taxes. You already “live” in Texas (2-3 days) each year so that you can avoid state income taxes in the states where you actually live, you only pay 15% on capital gains, you move corporations overseas to avoid paying fair wages, you have many loopholes in the tax laws yet it is never ever enough. Its easier for a camel to get thru the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven. Think about that one.
– Education is back! If you are a college student, get ready for your government loan plans to return to single digit interest instead of the 300%+ increase passed on by the Bush regime. The Every Child Left Behind program which has made American one of the dumbest nations on the planet is history. We need enlightened thinkers, not mind control.
– Iraq will now greet us as liberators because we will work to restore the reputation and power of the US and rebuild their war torn country. WE cant bring back the thousands of lives lost so that Halliburton and Exxon/Mobil have access to the second largest oil reserve in the world.
– Get ready for authenticity! Ignorant Americans will see that the Republican Party rhetoric was nothing more than a marketing campaign. Fear! Terror Level! Skeeery Pelosi! Taxes! Woooo the boogey man is coming!!
-Your children will learn diversity and tolerance, just like Jesus taught in the New Testament. Straight, gay, black, white, we are all Americans and no one is above the other. Americans will begin to understand and appreciate the differences among us rather than villanize and persecute others for political gain.
– Get ready for small government! The NSA, Patriot Act, National Animal Registration program, and other excessive government programs will be rolled back as we secure our borders and launch an EFFECTIVE war against terrorists without comprising our basic freedoms. To do away with our rights is a statement that the terrorists have won and that Democracy doesn’t work. Wrong!!
-The Pelosi superhighway is a myth but the Texas Trans Corridor is a real nightmare! Thanks Rick Perry for displacing thousands of elderly Texans from their homes for political gain. You da man!
-Enjoy higher wages for employees and less corporate corruption. The answer to every business issue is not to quadruple executive salaries and complain about how high healthcare costs are so you cant pay workers fairly or provide benefits… yadayadayada.
-Of course, this all matters.

Oh, forgot the best one,
-We all get to learn how to work together, Bipartisanship instead of dictatorship. We will work to strengthen our standing in the world and will participate in the UNITED NATIONS. Our interests are not superior to the interest of others. It’s not a KILL OR BE KILLED mindset anymore.
