Democrats Pull Flag Draped Coffin Ad.

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Democrats pulled an Internet ad that showed flag-draped coffins Friday after Republicans and at least two Democrats demanded it be taken down on grounds the image was insensitive and not fit for a political commercial.
The ad by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee called for a “new direction” and displayed a staccato of images, including war scenes, pollution and breached levees as well as a photograph of former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay doctored to look like a police mug shot.

This is the reason why the weak, spineless, simpering, whimpering, pathetic pussy’s who call themselves Democrats will LOSE AGAIN BIG TIME in November. They simply refuse to fight at every given opportunity. I cannot overemphasize how much disgust I have for them for doing this. How much more do they need to learn the lesson, that coming across as the good guys who won’t lower themselves to the type of ploys used by republicans on a regular basis simply does not work. The only Democrat I have any respect at all for is Russ Feingold, and Henry Waxman. There is no way the Democrats will let Feingold have the nomination, in ’08, just like they fell all over themselves to make sure that Howard Dean did not get the nomination last time.
The only real reason I can come up with, again, is that Democrats don’t want to win. They make plenty of money getting paid off by Republicans and they are all in the same boat together. Most Dems will probably campaign for Lieberman even if he loses the primary in Connecticut because he is a member of the club. I heard an interview with Chris Dodd the other Senator from Connecticut yesterday on Air America Radio, they asked him just that, if he will back Lieberman if he loses in the election. Dodd refused to answer the question, but he licked Lieberman’s ass so hard saying how great he was that I am sure he must have sprained his tongue. If anyone other then Feingold gets the nomination, I am voting for Nader, and I don’t care how close the goddam election is. I have had it with Dems refusing to fight.

Iraq gunmen seize 24 people, killing 20

More than 1,607 Iraqis have been killed and nearly 2,500 wounded since al-Maliki’s unity government took office May 20, according to an Associated Press count.

The top U.S. commander in Iraq said that “terrorists and death squads” are mainly responsible for a surge in sectarian violence in the capital, and he pledged to provide whatever U.S. forces are needed to avert civil war.

Gen. George Casey, at a joint news conference with Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, told reporters that al-Qaida is carrying out terrorist killings in the Baghdad area in an attempt to “demonstrate that they are still relevant” after the June 7 killing of their leader in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Whaaat?? you mean the killing in Iraq has INCREASED since Zarqawi was killed, and his body shown all over the world news for days on end? I don’t understand, I thought Bush said that taking out the “terrorists” would stop the violence. So in other words, every time you take out one guy who is pissed off that you are occupying his country, another will step up and take his place, and more people will join agaisnt you???? Army to End Expansive, Exclusive Halliburton Deal

Excerpt: The Army is discontinuing a controversial multibillion-dollar deal with oil services giant Halliburton Co. to provide logistical support to U.S. troops worldwide, a decision that could cut deeply into the firm’s dominance of government contracting in Iraq.

The choice comes after several years of attacks from critics who saw the contract as a symbol of politically connected corporations profiteering on the war.

Under the deal, Halliburton had exclusive rights to provide the military with a wide range of work that included keeping soldiers around the world fed, sheltered and in communication with friends and family back home. Government audits turned up more than $1 billion in questionable costs. Whistle-blowers told how the company charged $45 per case of soda, double-billed on meals and allowed troops to bathe in contaminated water.
