The Return of HL

Posted in Main Blog (All Posts) on November 7th, 2008 3:54 pm by HL

Whats up everyone??? Long time no talk. I am back from self-imposed exile, and will start taking an active roll in this blog once again. It’s been a long time, close to a year, since I went into seclusion, but now I will be back commenting on the stories of the day, and writing a few of my own as well. Don’t know if we will ever get back to doing the Comics, but hey you never know.

Lets start with this: I did not vote for Barack Obama for President. Big surprise right? Don’t get me wrong I’m happy as hell he won. The only important thing this year was getting the Republicans out of the White House for good. It’s funny I saw an interview on election night, maybe you did too, with one of Obamas Harvard Professors, and he said “Barack Obama may actually be a Republican” He was acting like he was kidding, but I’m not so sure. He voted for the bailout, and now has appointed Rahim Emmanuel as his chief of staff. You also didn’t hear him talking much about getting out of Iraq toward the end of the campaign.

We finally got back what was stolen from us 8 long years ago, and the right thing to do now is to round up all the murderous thieves like Bush Sr., Bush Jr., Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, and about a dozen other people, seize their assets and return them to the US Treasury where they belong, and make them the only prisoners in Guantanamo where they should reside for the rest of their lives. Of course Obama won’t do this, which is one more reason why I voted for Cynthia McKinney, remember her. She is the one who punched out that cop that time because he didn’t like that she was against Bush and the War.
Ok that’s it for now but just remember: Dennis Kucinich for President in 2012
HL out.

Listen to Sarah Palin Get Punked by “Nicholas Sarkozy”

Some Radio DJ’s in Canada fooled Sarah Palin (which I am guessing is not that hard to do) into thinking she was talking to French President Nicholas Sarkozy on the phone. Hilarity ensues. Check it out.

The Tattlesnake – Tying Up Loose Ends Edition
As your Tattler tries to absorb and process through his thickened skull the startling and emotional events of Election Day, and the elevation of an intelligent, articulate and capable man to the presidency by a landslide – something he hoped for but can still barely believe occurred in Junior Bush’s America For Dummies – it [...]

Obama Seeks Republicans for Cabinet

Obama Seeks Republicans for Cabinet
According to the Financial Times, senior Obama campaign officials said the President-elect will “appoint at least two Republicans to senior cabinet positions.”

In addition, the article says Obama will “move quickly on senior economic posts – probably within the next 48 hours.”

HL’s Take:
See this is exactly what I am talking about. C’mon Barack this is not why the people (not me) elected you.

Is Obama Screwing His Base with Rahm Emanuel Selection?

Is Obama Screwing His Base with Rahm Emanuel Selection?
Obama has asked conservative Clinton vet Rahm Emanuel to be his chief of staff — it’s not a good sign for progressives.

HL’s Take:
That’s why I voted for Cynthia McKinney.

Remember LBJ, Mr. President: Go For It All The First Year
Lyndon Johnson understood that the honeymoon would be short. After the largest landslide in history — with the biggest Democratic Congressional majorities ever — he acted as if he had a year to get his Great Society enacted. “You’ve got…

TPMtv: It’s the Surge, Stupid
If you’re desperate to be John McCain’s vice presidential nominee, you better get on TV and start talking up the Surge as the single most important issue in this year’s presidential campaign. And if you’re serious about getting picked it…

With the final election results in, the traditional finger-pointing and back-biting of the losing campaign has set in at a furious pace. Last night, CNN’s Dana Bash reported that “three senior McCain advisers” were saying that senior foreign policy adviser Randy Scheunemann had been fired from the campaign last week for “trashing” other campaign staffers:

One of the aides tells CNN that campaign manager Rick Davis fired Scheunemann after determining that he had been in direct contact with journalists spreading “disinformation” about campaign aides, including Nicolle Wallace and other officials.

Scheunemann, campaign manager Rick Davis and top adviser Mark Salter denied that he had been fired. McCain press aide Michael Goldfarb told Bash this morning that while Scheunemann wasn’t dismissed, he was essentially excommunicated by the McCain staff:

However, Goldfarb did concede that Scheunemann’s campaign e-mail was cut off, and his blackberry was taken away late Friday. Goldfarb admits that senior McCain aides were mad at Scheunemann, and wanted to fire him, but he insists they stopped short of that, and instead simply turned off his campaign communication.

McCain aides claim Scheunemann was providing “a constant stream of poison” to New York Times columnist Bill Kristol, who has also been accused of advising Sarah Palin behind the campaign’s back. On Fox & Friends this morning, Kristol attacked the campaign’s anonymous back-biters as “paranoid” and “disloyal to John McCain.” Watch it:

Though Kristol never mentioned Scheunemann, he appeared to hint at why the aide’s “campaign e-mail was cut off.” Talking about the last days of the campaign, Kristol said that some staff “were going through other campaign workers’ emails…to try to see who was allegedly leaking stuff, negative stuff.”

The Trail

The Trail
Barack Obama was declared the winner of North Carolina by the Associated Press on Thursday, the first time a Democrat has won the state since 1976. The only state to remain undecided is Missouri, where John McCain holds a slight lead.
