BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) – A verdict against Saddam Hussein and seven co-defendants charged with crimes against humanity in connection with an anti-Shiite crackdown in the 1980s will be announced Nov. 5, a senior court official said on Monday.
Sentences for those found guilty will be issued the same day, chief investigating judge Raid Juhi told The Associated Press
H.L.s Take:
Looks like Bush wants to have something to crow about before the big day when he could lose his power. That is if the pansy ass Democrats don’t continue to capitulate to him even with a majority in congress, which they probably will. They will never put Impeach Bush and put him on trial for war crimes, which he is guilty of. If the Democrats had any balls they could have him removed from office. (Assuming the Republicans don’t steal the elections, which of course is an absolute certainty)

How convenient. So it is a “show” trial after all. It couldn’t have been scripted better. And then we’ll have the “show” elections in the USA.

I don’t think they are going to get much mileage out of the Saddam thing at this point.

The “show” trial verdict intends to show the voters that Bush is getting the bad guy, Hussein. It’s a subtle reminder to his base that the Bush cabal got the job done.
There are fools that will think Bush has been effective in Iraq, when in reality, that whole country is in shambles, there is NO democracy, no freedom, no security, and a very dim future. Exactly what Bush and the neocons wanted.
If anything, it should be Bush that is on trial.

Out West, there are a handful of countries more corrupt than the US these days. Perhaps you would prefer one of those as your residence.

That’s all right Imz I like the freedoms that I have here that I wouldn’t get in any other country. But thanks for the thoughts. I will say that since clinton is gone I am doing a lot better though.
