Netanyahu Refers to ‘Telegenically Dead Palestinians’
During a CNN interview on Sunday, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed worldwide sympathy for the hundreds of Palestinian civilians killed in Gaza bombing by saying, “All civilian casualties are unintended by us, but intended by Hamas. They want to pile up as many civilian dead as they can … it’s gruesome,” Netanyahu said. “They use telegenically dead Palestinians for their cause.”

In Jaws, Mayor Vaughn tried to protect the summer tourism season by keeping a lid on reports of the man-eater lurking offshore. “You yell shark, we’ve got a panic on our hands on the Fourth of July,” he told police chief Brody. But as sightings of great white sharks mount off Cape Cod in real life, businesses in the Massachusetts town of Chatham are embracing the frenzy. Shark sightings have soared from generally fewer than two annually before 2004 to more than 20 in each of the last few years off Cape Cod. “You have to make sure people understand,” said Wendy Northcross of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, “if they go to the beach and they see a family of seals there, that’s probably not the best place to hang out.”
