Study: U.S. Media Keep People Uneducated About Health Issues
Less than 4 percent of news is health-related. And shoddy reporting on sexual health may be doing more harm than good.

The U.S. media is particularly pathetic in its coverage of nutritional news.
I am not a nutritionist by any means, but I take great interest in what I put in my body and I’m amazed by how lacking in nutritional acumen most people are…a lot of times I figure it’s not true ignorance; more a function of never being told and not seeking out the information because they’ve never even been educated how important it is.
It does not help that big agra and big pharma manage to slyly sponsor many supposed “scientific” studies that get quoted in big health feature media stories.
High fructose corn syrup…it’s bad stuff. Just how bad seems to be up for grabs, but it’s hard to dispute the ruinous effect it has had on our health in the past 20 years since it became very prevalent in our soft drinks (and everything else for that matter).
Studies surfaced in 2004 regarding HFCS and brought to the forefront just what kind of crap it is…
Well voila, wouldn’t you know it, now it’s reported:

HFCS is no worse than sugar! This is reported in the same American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that first hinted at the exact opposite 4 years ago.
Follow this trail: the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition is published by the American Society for Nutrition which just happens to count as its sustaining members many who profit by cheap, subsidized corn products:
Cadbury Schweppes
Con Agra Foods
Eli Lilly
Kraft Foods
Monsanto
Proctor & Gamble
As long as the media is sold out to the food and health tycoons, we will never receive the news we need for a better healthy future.
