Top officials: Bush can still wiretap US citizens without warrant

Senior Bush administration officials said Tuesday that they believe the president still has the constitutional authority to continue his domestic wiretapping program without first seeking court approval.
“Senior U.S. administration officials have told the U.S. Congress that they could not promise that the Bush administration would fulfill its January pledge to continue to seek warrants from a secret court for a domestic wiretapping program,” reports the International Herald Tribune.
In January, the administration agreed to seek court-approved warrants for all wiretaps of US citizens and other living inside the US.
But during a Tuesday hearing of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Michael McConnell, the director of national intelligence, told Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) that he could not promise that Bush would always seek warrants for domestic wiretaps.

So basically this McConnell guy is saying that “we lied” right to Feingold’s face. So now not only do they lie, they come right out and say we lied. They know there is absolutely no accountability for lying so why not just be honest about the lying. Not only are they saying they lied, they are saying they are going to lie some more in the future. “uh yeah, I know we said we were going to ask for court permission to wiretap American citizens, but you know…we’re not going to. How long will republicans in congress continue to support this lying thief. The American people know what is going on and republicans have to worry about being voted out of office in ’08 which most of them will if they don’t start denouncing the madman. How long before all of Bush’s support in congress is gone?

The democrats feel whole heartedly that Al Qaida must be able to talk to each orther on the phones. By god they feel that if an Al Qaida member gets busted by the wire tapps America is in trouble. Of course in their absolutely backwards way of thinking they feel the more we cut and run, the more we let AlQaida members have Habeus Corpus, and the more we let them communicate like they were our 16 year olds with new cell phones the better off America will be. The democrat party is like a bottomless black pit. For democrats there is always room to get worse. From bad to worse to worse. Al Qaida’s best ally. Al Qaida’s ace in the hole. The dems are traitors to these here United States. Yep Buck out!!!
