Whats Happening?

Posted in Main Blog (All Posts) on December 6th, 2006 12:12 pm by HL

How you doing? I am going to attempt to move this website to another server again. This involves a huge hassle, but has to be done. The site will be offline for probably 24 hours or a little more. I’m not sure when this will start, but we will be back soon after. Meanwhile here are some new stories for you to check out. Talk to you later.

Why don’t he want to oil companies to renegotiate? Why don’t he want to do away with the amt? I seriously doubt it’s going to pass. Iran Missile Update – 2004

    The Risk Report
    Volume 10 Number 2 (March-April 2004)

Iran continues to develop its ballistic missile capability, despite a number of setbacks in recent flight tests. Since 2000, Iran has focused its efforts on the Shahab 3 medium-range missile, which is capable of reaching Israel, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and U.S. forces in the Middle East. Although several tests of the Shahab 3 appear to have failed, a ceremony was held on July 20, 2003 marking the distribution of the missile to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. The Central Intelligence Agency now considers Iran’s missile arsenal to include “some” Shahab 3 missiles. The fate of the Shahab 4 missile, originally planned as a follow-on version of the Shahab 3 and able to attain parts of Eastern Europe, is unclear

  9. Buck Says:

Iran has an arsenal of short-range, liquid-fueled missiles including the SCUD B and SCUD C. Iran is now able to produce SCUD-type missiles on its own, thanks to assistance provided by North Korea. The Aerospace Industries Organization, a subsidiary of Iran’s Ministry of Defense, claims to support the manufacturing process by engaging in “SCUD missile restoration,” according to its web site.

  12. Buck Says:

H.L., Here is what your home boys think of protecting our nation! Sorry to have to do this to you but in this world the unrational stance against missile defense must come to a close!

America this is what the democratic party thinks of you!!!

Democrats have voted against missile defense…over and over and over!
Submitted by commit11 on Sat, 2006-10-21 20:38. Letters
Democrats have a record of voting against the Strategic Missile Defense Program. In light of recent events involving North Korea and Iran, we need this program now more than ever.

North Korea has nuclear weapons and long rang missiles. They have tested them both. Iran refuses to give up its nuclear program and its leader has threatened to “wipe Israel off the map”. North Korea has threatened the U.S.

House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi (Democrat-San Francisco) has said, “The United States does not need a multi-billion-dollar national missile defense against the possibility of a nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missile.” If the Democrats regain control of the U.S. House, she is in line to become Speaker of the House, third in line for the Presidency.

Here are just a few of Democrats’ attempts to kill America’s missile defense programs:

130 House Democrats voted to cut more than $9 billion from the ballistic missile defense program. (Roll Call 155, 5/17/06)

117 House Democrats voted to gut the missile defense program and slash its funding, putting in jeopardy America’s efforts to build an effective missile defense shield. (Roll Call 142, 5/11/06)

132 House Democrats voted to reduce funding for the ballistic missile defense program. (Roll Call 85, 3/17/05)

118 House Democrats voted to reduce funding for the ballistic missile defense program. (Roll Call 88, 3/25/04)

In 2002, 156 House Democrats voted to block funding for space based missile defense programs. (Roll Call 145, 5/9/02)

Democrats often wonder why many American people have little confidence in their ability to handle national security and keep America safe. They are hoping American voters won’t look at their voting record. If one does, their anti-defense record is clear.

Sorry Nancy, we just can’t let you and you party refuse to protect America and our children any longer.

I found me another democrat name! The mushroom cloud-crats! Its fun to be me! Buck out

    Damn, I got moderated!!!

  14. Buck Says:

Here is a quote from my favorite democrat!! Zell Miller!!

“Today, at the same time young Americans are dying in the sands of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan, our nation is being torn apart and made weaker because of the Democrats’ manic obsession to bring down our commander in chief.”

    (D) Zell Miller knows his party!

  15. Buck Says:

Here is another quote from (D) Zell Miller!

“What has happened to the party I’ve spent my life working in? I can remember when Democrats believed that it was the duty of America to fight for freedom over tyranny. It was Democratic President Harry Truman who pushed the Red Army out of Iran, who came to the aid of Greece when Communists threatened to overthrow it, who stared down the Soviet blockade of West Berlin by flying in supplies and saving the city.”

“Time after time in our history, in the face of great danger, Democrats and Republicans worked together to ensure that freedom would not falter. ”

    MILLER:” But not today.”

    Miller knows his party!

  16. Buck Says:

Another one from (D) Zell Miller:

“Motivated more by partisan politics than by national security, today’s Democratic leaders see America as an occupier, not a liberator.”

“And nothing makes this Marine madder than someone calling American troops occupiers rather than liberators.”

  17. Buck Says:

Another one from Zell Miller (D)

“Never in the history of the world has any soldier sacrificed more for the freedom and liberty of total strangers than the American soldier”

  18. Buck Says:

    Again, Zell Miller(D):

“And, our soldiers don’t just give freedom abroad, they preserve it for us here at home.”

“For it has been said so truthfully that it is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press.”

  19. Buck Says:

    Hey its Zell Miller (D):

“It is the soldier who salutes the flag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives that protester the freedom he abuses to burn that flag.”

  20. Buck Says:

    Incoming leader Nancy Pelosi:

“The UnitedStates does NOT need a multi-billion-dollar National Missile Defense against the possibility of a nuclear armed ballistic missile”

……….and she is 3rd in line to be prez! The dems are at it already

    Updated: 4:56 a.m. CT Dec 9, 2006
TEHRAN, Iran – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday that his country has expanded its contentious uranium enrichment program at a plant in central Iran, a semi-official news agency reported.

“We have started installing 3,000 centrifuges,” Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency.

“This is the first step toward industrial production. We will be able to produce our nuclear fuel once we install 60,000 centrifuges,” he said. Centrifuges spin uranium gas into enriched material to produce nuclear fuel.

Now, why would a country setting on top of the second largest energy spigit in the WORLD have a need for nuclear fuel?? They are not going to play patty-cake patty-cake bakers man with the stuff! They want their eternal god mohamed to live again!!! Everone knows, some are just real scared to admit the truth!! Thank Bush for keeping a couple of Trident subs in the Indian Ocean! Thats 48 missiles totaling 480 ( 500 kiloton w-88 nuclear warheads) for staters that Bush could sling at them! But, that is what they want! Buck out

  25. Buck Says:

    Iran
The newest wannabe member of the club announced on April 11, 2006 that it had enriched uranium for the first time, a critical step in the path towards making a bomb. But President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said his country does not aim to develop nuclear weapons.

A day later, the country’s deputy nuclear chief said Iran intends to enrich uranium on a scale hundreds of times larger than its current level. The UN Security Council has demanded that Iran stop all enrichment activity.

  26. Buck Says:

“Iran does have nuclear weapons”, General Yuri Baluyevsky, the Russian Deputy Chief of Staff told journalists, adding: “Of course, these are non-strategic nuclear weapons. I mean these are not ICBMs with a range of more than 5,500 kilometers and more. But as a military man, I see no danger of aggression against Russia by Iran.”

More from the Al-Qods Day festivities. “Iran warns of revenge over Israel,” from the BBC:

Iran’s president has warned that Muslims around the world will take revenge on states which support Israel against the Palestinians. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad again questioned the extent of the Holocaust, when German Nazis murdered six million Jews.

Buck sup nice 2 now who all the players r huh!

  32. Buck Says:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned Europe that it should support his country’s nuclear program or “suffer the consequences.”
In an interview to be published in the German Der Spiegel on Sunday, Ahmadinejad also expressed his doubt regarding the Holocaust, saying that even if it had occurred, the Jewish state should have been established in Europe, not in Palestine.

“I only accept something as the truth if I am truly convinced of it,” he asserted

  33. Buck Says:

    Implicit threat
Mr Ahmadinejad called Israel’s leaders a “group of terrorists” and appeared to threaten any country that supports it.
“You imposed a group of terrorists… on the region. It is in your own interest to distance yourself from these criminals… This is an ultimatum. Don’t complain tomorrow.”

“My decision depends on a lot of different things,” Ahmadinejad said.

Iran says Europe may get hurt for backing Israel.

TEHRAN (Reuters) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Friday Europe was stirring up hatred in the Middle East by supporting Israel and warned it “may get hurt” if anger in the region boiled over.

“You should believe that this regime (Israel) cannot last and has no more benefit to you. What benefit have you got in supporting this regime, except the hatred of the nations?” he said in a speech broadcast on state radio.

“We have advised the Europeans that the Americans are far away, but you are the neighbors of the nations in this region. We inform you that the nations are like an ocean that is welling up, and if a storm begins, the dimensions will not stay limited to Palestine, and you may get hurt.”

That onthefence, is not racism but more over awareness of your surroundings! *grins* See Ya

  57. Buck Says:

The first hints that Iran was developing a a medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) came in May 1996 when General Binford Peay, commander of the U.S. Central Command, stated that that Iran was expected to increase the range of its missiles to make them capable of reaching targets in Europe.[7] This was followed in late 1996 and early 1997 by additional reports that indicated that Iran was engaged in a major ballistic missile development effort to produce both a MRBM and a intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).[8] The MRBM, with a reported range of 2,000km, was identified as the Shahab-4, while the ICBM, with a reported range of 10,000km, was subsequently identified as the Shahab-5. The Shahab-4 would allow Iran to target Israel and Europe, while the Shahab-5 could strike the continental United States. These early reports further suggested that both systems could attain an initial operation capability in 2000.[9]

  58. Buck Says:

North Korean ship bound for Iran has been detained and inspected in India according to the Mumbai Mirror. Having run into mechanical problems and become disabled, the North Korean freighter apparently drifted into Indian waters where it was boarded and then towed to Bombay docks. The ship, however, was empty when Indian crews reached it.

“What is most suspicious is the fact that though it is a cargo ship, they are not carrying any consignment or goods,” said a Coast Guard officer. The authorities are now examining the freighter to find if any contraband is hidden somewhere.

    Some immediate observations:

The ship likely had its cargo tossed overboard once the ship became disabled. The testing explanation is wholly unrealistic. Cargo ships do not sail empty, certainly not from a cash-strapped North Korea. Another possibility is that the North Korean ship was sailing to Bandar Abbas to pick up cargo and serve as a mule to transport Iranian weapons/equipment elsewhere under a non-Iranian flag. But a North Korean flag is no less a magnet for Western suspicion than an Iranian flag. Even considering the less likely latter possible scenario, what does this say of the PSI-led inspections of North Korean shipping enabled by the latest UN Security Council sanctions on North Korea? There is no mention in any report of a distress signal or call for help from the North Korean ship. It apparently simply drifted into Indian waters in silence. This is an important contributing factor that goes unmentioned. Indicating a lack of quality control attributing to the mechanical failure, as well as lack of concern for crew, the Times of Oman reported Indian officials saying that “documents for the new 45-meter vessel were in order, although life-saving equipment was found to be deficient.” North Korea is not in the business of wasting money it does not have, including on its expendable crews. This was certainly not a long-range ‘test’ as claimed by the crew. Note once more that this was not from the North Korean government, who has apparently maintained ‘radio silence’ on the controversy. This was a money-maker, and the lack of an explanation in over a week’s time is a clear indicator of nefarious dealings between North Korea and Iran.

Also note that this incident occurred originally October 29. If this were simply a test, the ‘official’ North Korean silence thus far is nothing short of curious.

An Indian official said of the crew, “They don’t understand English at all. But we are trying our best to find out the purpose of their visit to Iran since there is no conspicuous cargo onboard.” Why has North Korea not sent a translator in the week that has passed since the Indian Coast Guard first took control of the ship?

If the Titanic can be found on the ocean’s floor, perhaps a more curious payload now lies on the floor of the Indian Ocean near where this ship broke down. It’s likely a matter of the will to discover it.

    I,M BACK

  60. onthefence Says:

Maybe Hillary would support missile defense if she had more money to spend! You can only stretch a dollar so far. Why not make these oil companies pay America her fair share? Why not let Americans decide how they want to live rather than the federal government deciding for all of us? I’m so sick of big business/big government! Give the power back to the states! Tell me why we’re spending so little to make alternative fuel available. Tell me why we’re so concerned with the oil. Why are we continuously destroying our natural resources with little to no emphasis on conservation? Think of the possibilities a new fuel could spark. If the bureaucracy quit chasing oil & looked at the potential in its own back yard. It would be an economic windfall. Herbert “Bussie” York of Sandy River Farms thinks corn has potential as an alternative to fuel oil or wood.A bushel of corn, which now sells for $2.41 a bushel, can replace 3.6 gallons of oil, he said. With heating oil selling for well over $2 a gallon, oil costs more than three times as much as corn by his calculations. Consumption of foreign oil has increased to 66% in the US. Tell me why earlier this year President Bush threatened to veto the Energy Bill unless Sen. Jeff Bingaman’s (D-NV) provision–which would have reduced oil consumption by 1 million barrels a day over 10 years–was removed (which it eventually was). Or the time he requested budget cuts for seven renewable and efficient energy programs, including research on ethanol.

Let’s get things straight here– America’s not “addicted to oil,” Someone’s addicted to oil, but in this day & age, we could do without it. The vast majority of Americans are troubled by our dependency on foreign oil, favor alternative energy, and want to see cars with better gas mileage. We may be addicted to energy (which, granted, is a big problem), but we’re not addicted to oil.

“Quitting smoking is easy,” said the great Mark Twain. “Done it a thousand times.”

“Most people spend more time and energy going around problems than in trying to solve them.”
    —Henry Ford

  69. Oak-e-smay Says:

With these key developments, 2007 is set to be the biggest battle of space-based weapons since President Reagan proposed “Star Wars” in 1983.

The incoming chairman of the Senate’s Armed Services Committee is Carl Levin. Levin, a Michigan Democrat, has long been a foe of missile defense. In 1980s, he worried that President Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative — which aimed to develop technology to destroy Soviet missiles during all phases of flight — was “destabilizing

  70. Oak-e-smay Says:

Today Sen. Levin sings the same tune in a different key. “They’ve not done the operational testing yet that is convincing,” said Senator Levin during a post-election press conference. He was referring to the Ground based Missile Defense [GMD] system being installed in Alaska and California, to defend against North Korean missiles. He added that he favors stalling purchases of interceptor missiles – vital for missile defense — until after testing is complete.

In short, Sen. Levin and other longtime opponents of missile defense plan to use “testing” – set to an unrealistically high level – to stop missile defense

  71. Oak-e-smay Says:

    How the Game is Played

Former Assistant Secretary of Defense Frank Gaffney explains how the game works: “The idea is that we put it [missile defense] on ice until absolutely everybody is satisfied. It is a formula for not having the missile defense we need

  72. Oak-e-smay Says:

Complex weapons systems have often been used successfully without proper testing. In 1940, Britain’s new air defenses — radars, ground observers, anti-aircraft guns and squadrons of Spitfires and Hurricanes — had never been tested against even a small scale simulated attack. Yet they won the Battle of Britain. Likewise in the 1991 Gulf War the first two E-8A ground surveillance radar aircraft had only just begun a long testing process when they were shipped to Saudi Arabia. During the war they performed magnificently and now these aircraft are in high demand all over the world.

  73. Oak-e-smay Says:

For decades, critics of advanced technology weapons have pointed to testing failures to support their drive to cancel the programs. Yet test failures are a normal part of the development process of any weapon system. Consider the M-1 tank. Its early tests were riddled with failures, yet now it is one of the most effective tanks in the world

  82. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

One test of how serious both Democrats and the Bush Administration is about defending America against missile attack is whether they are ready to use the ultimate high ground – outer space. The best time to hit a ballistic missile is just after blast off when it is climbing against of gravity and emitting a massive heat signature. This is known as “Boost Phase Intercept.” In 1992 a space-based system that could perform this task known as Brilliant Pebbles was being developed by the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization [SDIO]. It was canceled by Les Aspin, Clinton’s first Secretary of Defense, who claimed that he was “taking the Stars out of Star Wars.”

Aspin also imposed drastic cuts to the long term missile defense science and technology research budget, cuts from which that part of the program has never really recovered

  83. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

Coming Soon: The Orbital Battle Station

Pajamas Media has learned that the Bush administration is going to ask Congress for funding to begin development of an “orbital battle station” that will be able to attack enemy missiles in their vulnerable boost phase.

  84. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

Each Battle Station would be a fairly large satellite that carried a number, perhaps 40 to 50 infrared guided “kill vehicles.” On orders from the ground, the battle station would launch these kill vehicles, roughly about the size of a loaf of bread, at incoming missiles. Professor Everett Dolman of the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama and the author of %%Amazon= 0714681970 Astropolitik – Classical Geopolitics in The Space Age%%, says that space based systems are “the only viable option for global defense against the most likely threats, such as an attack by Iran against Israel or by Pakistan against India

  85. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

“The technology,” Dolman said, “for a basic orbital interceptor that could hit an ICBM in mid flight has been available to the U.S. for at least two decades. Indeed should the U.S. dedicate itself to a fast track development and deployment of several dozen networked anti-missile satellites, it could have a baseline capability in place within two years.”

The Bush administration pending request for an orbital battle station will surely touch off a brawl over “space weaponization”. Loren Dealy a spokeswoman for the Democrats on the House Armed Services Committee told Pajamas Media: “Our members have serious concerns with the concept of space-based interceptors.”

  86. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

Critics have long believed space-based systems would set off an arms race in space that would destabilize international relations. Keeping space a sanctuary for our satellites seems reasonable, until one recognizes that this leaves billions of dollars of vital U.S. military assets defenseless targets that could be hit and destroyed by primitive space weapons that Iran or others could build regardless of any restraint we show. The orbital battle stations could possibly knock out such weapons the same way they knock out long range missiles

  87. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

While some Democrats can be expected to fight tooth and nail against any orbital battle station, the defense community suggests that others such as Rep. Norm Dicks (D-WA) are not going to reject space-based defense as out of hand. Others such as Rep. John Spratt (D-SC) may want to slow things down. Last May, he said “We owe it to ourselves to understand the full ramifications of a move into space before we introduce this additional variable into the missile defense equation.” Overall they may spend the same sums the GOP was planning to spend, but would keep any effective defense systems on the drawing board forever

  88. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

Now that the Democrats are in charge of both houses of Congress for the first time since the 9-11 attacks, they face an important and ultimately revealing choice: will they to stick with the bromides beloved by their base or work with the president to safeguard the country from North Korean and Iranian missiles?

Silvestri the Dumb (What Nancy Knew)
Projection rules the world and those who have spent the last few years accusing Bush of stupidity were usually stupid themselves, but nothing prepared me for this. Silvestre Reyes – the man about to be installed as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee – repeat Intelligence Committee – does not have even the most basic rudimentary knowledge of Al Qaeda. This is not just embarrassing, this is humiliating and fairly close to nuts. Read this interchange between Jeff Stein and Silvestre

  90. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

Al Qaeda is what, I asked, Sunni or Shia?

“Al Qaeda, they have both,” Reyes said. “You’re talking about predominately?”

“Sure,” I said, not knowing what else to say.

“Predominantly – probably Shiite,” he ventured.

He couldn’t have been more wrong.

Al Qaeda is profoundly Sunni. If a Shiite showed up at an al Qaeda club house, they’d slice off his head and use it for a soccer ball.

  91. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

Silvestre, as I’m sure most readers of this blog know, is the candidate chosen by Nancy Pelosi to bypass Jane Harman. Harman undoubtedly knows full well that Bin Laden, being Saudi, is Sunni- as are the vast majority of Al Qaeda leaders from Zawahiri on down. The uneducated Reyes will now be charged with making judgments about Iran (does he know they are Shia?). Talk about history coming back as farce!

Now let me ask a question. How many of these rudimentary facts does Pelosi herself know? I would venture not many. And yet we are in her hands.

  92. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

The Iranian Threat: The Bomb or the Euro?

    By Dr. Elias Akleh

03/24/05 “AMIN” – – Iran does not pose a threat to the United State because of its nuclear projects, its WMD, or its support to “terrorists organizations” as the American administration is claiming, but in its attempt to re-shape the global economical system by converting it from a petrodollar to a petroeuro system. Such conversion is looked upon as a flagrant declaration of economical war against the US that would flatten the revenues of the American corporations and eventually might cause an economic collapse

  93. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

In June of 2004 Iran declared its intention of setting up an international oil exchange (a bourse) denominated in the Euro currency. Many oil-producing as well as oil-consuming countries had expressed their welcome to such petroeuro bourse. The Iranian reports had stated that this bourse may start its trade with the beginning of 2006. Naturally such an oil bourse would compete against London’s International Petroleum Exchange (IPE), as well as against the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), both owned by American corporations.

  94. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

Oil consuming countries have no choice but use the American Dollar to purchase their oil, since the Dollar has been so far the global standard monetary fund for oil exchange. This necessitates these countries to keep the Dollar in their central banks as their reserve fund, thus strengthening the American economy. But if Iran — followed by the other oil-producing countries — offered to accept the Euro as another choice for oil exchange the American economy would suffer a real crisis. We could witness this crisis at the end of 2005 and beginning of 2006 when oil investors would have the choice to pay $57 a barrel of oil at the American (NYMEX) and at London’s (IPE), or pay 37 Euros a barrel at the Iranian oil bourse. Such choice would reduce trade volumes at both the Dollar-dependent (NYMEX) and the (IPE).

  95. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

Many countries had studied the conversion from the ever weakening petrodollar to the gradually strengthening petroeuro system. The de-valuation of the Dollar was caused by the American economy shying away from manufacturing local products — except those of the military -, by outsourcing the American jobs to the cheaper third world countries and depending only on the general service sector, and by the huge cost of two major wars that are still going on. Foreign investors started withdrawing their money from the shaky American market causing further devaluation of the Dollar

  96. Buck Says:

Hey Oak-e-smay, have you checked out the posting I put up about Iran having nuclear weapons?? Go up about 65 or 70 comments and click on and check it out!!

  97. Buck Says:

For nearly 50 years, worries about a nuclear Middle East centered on Israel. Arab leaders resented the fact that Israel was the only atomic power in the region, a resentment heightened by America’s tacit approval of the situation. But they were also pretty certain that Israel (which has never explicitly acknowledged having nuclear weapons) would not drop the bomb except as a very last resort. That is why Egypt and Syria were unafraid to attack Israel during the October 1973 Yom Kippur War. “Israel will not be the first country in the region to use nuclear weapons,” went the Israelis’ coy formula. “Nor will it be the second.”

  98. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

The keen observer of the money market could have noticed that the devaluation of the American Dollar had started since November 2002, while the purchasing power of European Euro had crept upward to reach nowadays to $1.34. Compared to the Japanese Yen the Dollar had dropped from 104.45 to 103.90 yen. The British pound climbed another notch from $1.9122 to $1.9272

  99. Buck Says:

Today the nuclear game in the region has changed. When the Arab League’s secretary general, Amr Moussa, called for “a Middle East free of nuclear weapons” this past May, it wasn’t Israel that prompted his remarks. He was worried about Iran, whose self-declared ambition to become a nuclear power has been steadily approaching realization.

  100. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

There is only one technical obstacle concerning the use of a euro-based oil exchange system, which is the lack of a euro-denominated oil pricing standard, or oil ‘marker’ as it is referred to in the industry. The three current oil markers are U.S. dollar denominated, which include the West Texas Intermediate crude (WTI), Norway Brent crude, and the UAE Dubai crude. Yet this did not stop Iran from requiring payments in the euro currency for its European and Asian oil exports since spring 2003.

Iran’s determination in using the petroeuro is inviting in other countries such as Russia and Latin American countries, and even some Saudi investors especially after the Saudi/American relations have weakened lately. This determination had also invited an aggressive American political campaign using the same excuses used against Iraq: WMD in the form of nuclear bomb, support to “terrorist” Lebanese Hezbollah organization, and threat to the peace process in the Middle East

  101. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

    1.0000 Euro = 1.3159 U.S. Dollars

  102. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

The question now is what would the American administration do? Would it invade Iran as it did Iraq? The American troops are knee-deep in the Iraqi swamp. The global community — except for Britain and Italy- is not offering any military relief to the US. Thus an American strike against Iran is very unlikely. Iran is not Iraq; it has a more robust military power. Iran has anti-ship missiles based in “Abu Mousa” island that controls the strait of Hermuz at the entrance of the Persian Gulf. Iran could easily close the strait thus blocking all naval traffic carrying gulf oil to the rest of the world causing a global oil crisis. The price of an oil barrel could reach up to $100. The US could not topple the regime by spreading chaos the same way it did to Mussadaq’s regime in 1953 since Iranians are aware of such a trick. Besides Iranians have a patriotic pride of what they call “their bomb”.

  103. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

Iran had invested a lot of money and effort to obtain nuclear technology and would never abandon it as evident in its political rhetoric. Unlike Iraq Iran would not keep quiet of Israel strikes its nuclear facilities. Iran would retaliate aggressively which may lead to the destabilization of the whole region including Israel, Gulf States, Iraq, and even Afghanistan.

Guess what $ 960,250,000,000 dollars is????????????

  106. Oak-e-smay 1 Says:

    not enough!!!!!!!

  107. Buck Says:

That is a cost estimate in dollars for the United States Goverment in the event of a nuclear detonation over just one American City!

  108. Buck Says:

    pressure blast damage 500,000,000,000.

  109. Buck Says:

health care costs associated with blast 150,000,000,000.
    and quarantine the damned

  110. Buck Says:

Policeing and restoring order to the rural areas 150,000,000,000.
    just outside the blast zone

  111. Buck Says:

Loss of argriculture, textiles, and manufacturing 18,000,000,000.
    from the blast zone

  112. Buck Says:

Cost to the United States goverment, in banking, 17,000,000,000.
    energy supply structure, and communications

  113. Buck Says:

Loss of aid capacity of red cross and salvation army 100,000,000.
    in the blast zone area!

  114. Buck Says:

Loss of revenue from the blast zone area 100,000,000.
    and orther unanticipated costs

  115. Buck Says:

That comes to a grand total of $ 960,250,000,000. serious dollars for not having a missile defense! And thats just one city!

  116. Buck Says:

Bush has deployed a missle defense for a total expense cost of $ 95,000,000,000 serious dollars!
Bush, much to my approval, is slated to push for 50,000,000,000 for expanded missile defense to deploy more interceptor rockets. S0, 150,000,000,000 serious dollars to protect the WHOLE nation from the nuts in Iran and North Korea!

  117. Buck Says:

Folks, if you want to argue costs and dollar figures over missile defense with me consider the cost for not having it. Here is some simple math!

    960,250,000,000 > 150,000,000,000.

  118. Buck Says:

So, if the USA gets hit by five nukes because we dont have a missile defense the total greenback cost to the american taxpayer is 4,801,250,000,000 TRILLON DOLLARS

For ever city after that, well just start adding up the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Do you know what Im saying??????????????????????

Your talking dark black economic depression and the death of a nation!!!!

  119. Buck Says:

Bayegan: The Islamic Republic already has stockpiles of chemical weapons and has told the EU three (Britain, Germany and France) ‘that it could possess nuclear weapons within three years. The real time limit the mullahs need to obtain a nuclear bomb however is less than 11 months.

  120. Buck Says:

If other countries don’t take decisive action soon, the world will have the 9th nuclear weapons state — and its first nuclear-armed state that also sponsors terrorism — faster than you can say “atomic ayatollah.”
    Beyagen:

  121. Buck Says:

Efforts to stop Tehran’s atomic quest have been lackluster so far. The International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) latest rebuke, for example, didn’t even stop the mullahs from making last week’s in-your-face announcement. The European Union’s “peace in our time” agreement with Iran last October on nuclear transparency and inspections has become a tragic joke.

  122. Buck Says:

Even Iran’s old pals, Russia and China, don’t buy Tehran’s line anymore. Iran’s nuclear mendacity and obfuscation has become so obvious — and embarrassing — that Beijing and Moscow deserted the Islamic republic and supported the critical IAEA resolution. (Although China has been accused recently of secretly aiding the Iranian nuclear program in exchange for oil…)

  123. Buck Says:

The confrontation between the IAEA and Iran has dragged on for two years now. And time is on Iran’s side: Each day, it moves one step closer to achieving its nuclear ambition.

As the U.S. ambassador to the IAEA said, “The passage of time is not a neutral factor in proliferation cases.” Iran may become a nuclear power in the next 18 months.

  124. Buck Says:

    Supporting Iranian nuclear efforts are:

A heavy-water reactor at Arak, which will produce large amounts of plutonium suitable for use in nuclear weapons.

A nuclear-conversion facility at Isfahan to produce uranium hexafluoride, a basic ingredient for developing nukes.

Iran insists that these facilities are for producing nuclear fuel for its civilian energy sector, which will free oil and gas reserves for export.

  125. Buck Says:

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said sanctions will be tough but that Iran poses a greater danger to the United States than Iraq at this point and must be contained.

  126. LA Says:
