NEWSWEEK: GOP in Meltdown, Bush Approval Rating of the Moment…
Brad Blog
Democrats Now Beating Republicans on ‘Every Single Issue’…
Democrats now outdistance Republicans on every single issue that could decide voters’ choices come Nov. 7. In addition to winning—for the first time in the NEWSWEEK poll—on the question of which party is more trusted to fight the war on terror (44 to 37 percent) and moral values (42 percent to 36 percent), the Democrats now inspire more trust than the GOP on handling Iraq (47 to 34); the economy (53 to 31); health care (57 to 24); federal spending and the deficit (53 to 29); gas and oil prices (56 to 23); and immigration (43 to 34).
H.L.s Take:
I went to a little get together Saturday night with a group of L.A. Liberal Bloggers. It was hosted by MJS of Corrente Wire, and I got to meet a great bunch of people including Johnny Wendell, who does a show on KTLK which is the Air America Radios L.A. affiliate, also people from Martini Republic, The Huffington Post, Cenk Uygur from Young Turks, which is on Air America from 6-9AM Eastern. and the great Brad Frieman from Bradblog
We discussed many topics including Brads story about how Voting Machines can be fixed in 60 seconds by implanting a virus that can flip the vote, spread the virus to other voting machines, and then completly extract itself at the end of the voting. This coming on the heels of the Busby/Bilbrae election down in San Diego in which election officials were Allowed to take the machines home with them overnight. Brad is predicting a fiasco this election day with more contested elections then ever before, especially when Republicans lose, which they are going too. Thanks to Frank for putting on the shindig. Great time.

300 million Americans exist. Lets poll 1055 here. Then lets poll 1229 there . Telepoll, tellepoll, tellepoll, tellepoll….PoLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL POWER. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. Poll 1245 in this state. Poll 1345 in that state! Voters and nonvoters. Most likely to vote. Somewhat likely to vote. Not likley to vote. Should we pull out if it will save lives asks one Poll. Spin again and again. Now, it they were for Bush, you’d be praising the polls. Nothing you say changes reality.
October 10th, 2006 at 2:42 pm
Actually LA I don’t believe the polls at all because most of them are done by the Lib media and they aren’t done with an equal number of dem’s and rep’s. For every poll that says that the dem’s are winning you can find polls that say that the rep’s are winning. You want to believe polls that’s fine the dem’s have been good for that. That is what cost them the 04 election they were believing the polls and thought they won. You keep believing the polls and than complain when your party screws up and loses again.

It wasn’t just pre-election polls that didn’t match the election results in 2004. The results also didn’t match exit polls. Now I wonder why that would be…
October 10th, 2006 at 9:17 pm
HUH? First Bill states that most of the polls are by “the Lib Media”, and then he states that there are an equal number of polls which favor the republicans as the democrats. Therefore…there must be some segments of “the Lib media” who are reporting that republicans favor the democrats, you follow my logic? Please name some…
Then further down the post Bill loses all hope of pretending to be an objective observer when calling the Democrats “your party”. At least Bill gets a huge tax cut for his blind faith.

Another person that has no idea what he is talking about when it comes to tax cuts and economics. Gee lets see if you get more money in your pocket and you don’t have to give it to the government than you spend more money on what you want which in turn puts more money in the government because of sales tax, porperty tax, things like that but than that is basic and it makes to much sense. That’s the problem with the dem’s you been listening to the same song and dance from them and now you believe it. You want to say it for just the rich well who do you think pays the most in taxes. Check this out. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1282/is_19_56/ai_n13673328
I’d be willing to bet that if you were in that group you would be complaining about what you had to pay. And if you read all the way through you’ll find out that Bush’s “tax cut” wasn’t a tax cut for the rich. THe top 20% pay 83% of the taxes and you want to talk about fair. Why don’t you send in 32% of your check and see how you like it. You want to take money from someone who earned it and give it to someone who didn’t. Why don’t you take 32% of your paycheck and just give it to someone who didn’t do anything for you. Don’t see that happening.

Why are the benefits of the Bush tax cuts?
Excerpt:
What’s more troubling to “fiscal conservatives†of both parties is that the combination of massive tax cuts and major new spending for the war in Iraq has destroyed a decade’s worth of work (by both parties) on balancing the federal budget. For the first time in modern history, the U.S. government in the late 1990s behaved like most U.S. wage earners — it lived within its means. But deficits are once again piling up at the rate of hundreds of billions of dollars a year. So in that sense at least, the Bush tax cut simply doesn’t add up.
You also know where 50% of our taxes go, I know you already do. The Military, where Bush and buddies in the military industiral complex are getting rich with our money.
October 11th, 2006 at 9:32 pm
HL again it depends on which chart you look at. If the military is getting 50% of the budget than why don’t they have everything they need? Here’s a chart that shows that for 2006 the military only got 20% of the budget. Even so out of that “50%” they also pay the retirements for the people that put in 20 years or more, the people that were discharged with full medical, spouses benifits, and so on. So the whole thing doesn’t go to just the active military. Oh here is that chart for the 06 year

I’m still waiting for Bill to let me know which “Lib media” outlets reporting that republicans will retain control in ’06. The title of the post is “GOP IN MELTDOWN BUSH APPROVAL RATING OF THE MOMENT” not “GOP TAX TALKING POINTS”. Stay on topic, stick to facts. I already read Adam Smith’s “Wealth of Nations” so you can save yourself the time for your condescending and useless Economics 101 lecture in which you constantly insinuate what I believe and what I don’t believe. You don’t know me, let’s keep it that way.

IMZ, do you think that ever person that just voted comes out and gives an exit poll? Mabey one out of ten. Exit polls are the most unaccurate thing to do with voting. That is why the voting results dont match the exit polls. There was NO exit poller where I voted and 12000 people voted in my county. You see??
October 12th, 2006 at 8:18 pm
Hey Freedom you want a site that will explain polls for you than fine here. It even tells you that polls don’t mean a thing. http://www.hillnews.com/thehill/export/TheHill/News/Frontpage/092006/polling.html
And as far as the tax thing goes you brought that up and showed your stupidy when you said that the rich got a tax cut.
October 12th, 2006 at 8:20 pm
Hey HL I like how you used a june issue of news week to try to show Bush’s % down since his approval rating is up to what 40%. http://www.pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm
October 12th, 2006 at 8:22 pm
Sorry HL that was from the begining of Oct my mistake.

LA how many of the news stations asked Clinton the same questions that they have asked Bush. Non of them asked Clinton about inacting the highest tax increase in the history of this country. non of them went after him about bombing an asprin factory. How many news articles have you see about Harry Reid and his shady land deal?
