EU lawmakers demand to know location of CIA jails
AP
Excerpt:
STRASBOURG, France (Reuters) – European lawmakers demanded on Thursday that their governments reveal the location of secret CIA prisons after U.S. President George Bush admitted Washington held terrorist suspects in jails abroad….
“Bush exposes not only his own previous lies. He also exposes to ridicule those arrogant government leaders in Europe who dismissed as unfounded our fears about extraordinary rendition,” she said.
A European Commission spokesman said there still was no proof of the complicity of any European state.
H.L.s Take:
Wow, AP used the work “Bush” and “Lies” in the same sentence. I bet thats the first time that has ever happened. First Bush sets up a secret prision in Guantanamo, then he sets up secret prisions in Europe witht the help of the CIA. Why does everything that Bush does have to be a secret. Oh yeah because they are illegal. Up next are secret FEMA prisions right here in The U.S. which are already up and running and sitting empty waiting for the day Bush decides to use them on us.

What is illegal about it HL?? Prisoners are given to or kept in different countries all the time…….oh yes without your knowledge buddy believe me. People don’t wait around for HL’s approval. Prisioners are shipped to countrys that don’t limit torture like we do. A trip with the Pakistani secret police would make Guantanamo look like a flipping 4th grade field trip.
You think the Ukranians take it easy on suspects?? How bout the Russians when they get there hands on Chechnean seperatists. Do you know why you never hear anything about it?? Because they are killed and never heard from again……..Makes Gitmo sound a bit more appealing doesn’t it??

Well, Buzz, I thought we were supposed to be better then the Chechneans and the Russians. Not to mention the taliban and the insurgents, but under Bush and “torture boy” Gonzalez, and Chertoff, we are no better then they are.

So killing them or beheading them, like some of the groups you name is ok?? I don’t think you can equate them here. Gitmo guys are still here, maybe some found not guilty will be set free someday. Those other groups you mention don’t have that as a check box on the application. Beheaded or tourtured to death still has to suck a bit more, I would think??
