New ABC Docudrama Blames Clinton For 9/11, Praises Bush

On September 10 and 11, ABC will air a “docudrama” called “The Path to 9/11.” It was written by Cyrus Nowrasteh, who describes himself as “more of a libertarian than a strict conservative,” and is giving interviews to hard-right sites like FrontPageMag to promote the film.
What will it say about President Clinton? Here’s Rush Limbaugh with a preview:
A friend of mine [Cyrus Nowrasteh] out in California has produced and filmed — I think it’s a two-part mini-series on 9/11 that ABC is going to run in prime-time over two nights, close to or on 9/11. It’s sort of surprising that ABC’s picked it up, to me. I’ve had a lot of people tell me about it, my friends told me about it…And from what I have been told, the film really zeros in on the shortcomings of the Clinton administration in doing anything about militant Islamofascism or terrorism during its administration. It cites failures of Bill Clinton and Madeleine Albright and Sandy Burglar.
How does it deal with President Bush?
Condoleezza Rice gets that fated memo about planes flying into buildings, and makes it very clear to anyone who’ll listen just how concerned President Bush is about these terrorist threats — despite the fact that we’re given little concrete evidence of the president’s concern or interest in taking action. Maybe my memory fails me, but the only person I remember talking about Osama bin Laden back in 1998 was President Clinton, while the current anti-terrorist stalwarts worked the country into a frenzy over what? Blow jobs. In the end, “The Path to 9/11″ feels like an excruciatingly long, winding and deceptive path, indeed.

First they take Monday Night Football off the air, and now this. Thats it I am boycotting ABC, (not that I would watch any of their trash besides MNF anyway) I suggest you do the same. Big TV Networks and Newspapers, are nothing now except for propaganda rags for the guy who gave them (the richest 1% not people who do manual labor.) those big tax cuts.

Well, so far all I’ve heard of this movie is from what’s on this site, and the quote about the movie’s point of view comes from master of spin Rush Limbaugh…not the most reliable source. I’ll watch it for myself.

Are people really freaking out over what Limbaugh wrote? Sounds like the guy didn’t even see the movie and only wrote about what his writer friend told him. Please know that the makers of this movie are VERY diverse in their political leanings – some ultra liberal…you do need to see the film before you freak out and boycott it. Also, don’t be so freakishly liberal that you cannot admit that Clinton had some short-comings…but that is NOT a reference of blame for 9/11 or anything Limbaugh’s spewing out his ass. Do trust that I am a reliable source and I do know for a fact that at least one major player in the making of this film detests the Bush administration.

I haven’t seen the path to 9/11,but have read excerpts on it and its not about politics. Its about
inaction and fear of Bill Clinton to capture or kill Osama and all the terrorism events leading up to
9/11. Its no secret Bill Clinton hated the military, and the mantra that got him elected was its the
economy stupid. So Bill was a likeable guy, a very entertaining and engaging person. But when
people see this film you’ll probably say Bill got caught with his pants down on terrorism,and we
are paying the price. My god theirs reports he has contacted ABC to edit the film to lessen the
negative impact to himself. My reply if you know the truth, the truth will set you free.

Well, Bob – it would be nice if this piece of Republican’t propaganda would actually give us some of the truth. But since it is going to be nothing but lies about Clinton (and how he screwed up – when he didn’t) and Putsch (and how he didn’t screw up – when he did), I don’t see how this pack of Repoublican’t lies willset anyone free.
Also, Bob – when you cut and paste some Republican’t propaganda from one place to another, you should really get rid of the line feed characters when you paste your Republican’t talking points into a comments section with a different width. Otherwise, people can just easily see that you didn’t actually put it together yourself, and are just helping catapult the Repuiblican’t propaganda according to the wishes of your masters.
Isn’t it funny how Republican’t bloggers have gotten previews of this trash, but no Democratic bloggers?
Isn’t it funny how the people who put this trash together didn’t even consult with the 9-11 commission members when putting these lies together?

Isn’t it funny how Disney is offering this paid partisan political propaganda to the public commercial free? And that they’re trying to distribute it to schools as if it was historically accurate?

With one small exception Buzz, Every word of F 9/11 was true and verifiable. I’m betting that this will not be the case with this Docudrama, that is meant to prop of the beliefs of people who would’nt bother to do some research, and check things out for themselves if the f**king house was on fire. That would be too much work.

Nice try, Buzz the republican’t plant. This sound nothing like what happened when F911 cae out. I remember that major corporations were trying to prevent the ovie from being screened in theaters, and I also remember that it was difficult just to get the commercials to appear on the conservative media channels like ABC, NBC, CBS, Faux, and CNN – much less even considering to run the movie on television.
Also, I don’t quite remember where a major entertainment conglomerate was pushing to have Fahrenheit 9-11 installed into the high school curriculum as required viewing for students. Perhaps you could point out where any of ABC, NBC, CBS, or Faux tried to give F911 away to the schools for free, Buzz?
Nice to see that Republican’ts are still in their little fantasy worlds, and still focused on their blindingly partisan (and unjustified) Clenis hatred more than five years after he’s gone – yet they can’t seem to find a single thing wrong with the Worst President Ever. Funny how that works…

I was thinking the same thing Tom about the comparisons between this “docudrama” and Michael Moore. I remember having to pay $10 and going out to a theater to see F9/11. It was not projected into my living room by ABC.

This is ridiculous to blame Clinton, pick up a great book “The Best Democracy Money Can Buy” and read it. Read about what the author calls “Operation Ignore”;Bush and his idiots decided right away that anything the prior administration did was not worth continuing… They were warned and briefed extensively about the quality intelligence of the Clinton administration; and what did they do? Tossed it all out and said ha! We don’t need this.
This is why 9/11 happened, I firmly believe that if Al Gore had been in the White House (where we the people voted him to be) there would never have been a 9/11! There is another book (can’t remember the title right now that also confirms my theory….
If it weren’t for the fact that brother Jeb was pulling the strings in Florida; this barely C student would never have been President and the tragedy of 9/11 would never have occurred.

OMG did I just see someone post that every word of F 9/11 was true and verifiable?! LOL! That movie was the biggest propaganda piece of trash. Some of the clips used were taken totally out of context (which if you hadn’t seen the original you might be fooled). Wasn’t it obvious? You guys believe this stuff? Now you are really scaring me.

I’m glad you have fully investigated this matter, you must have wrote some kind of report or paper to document your findings. Why didn’t you post the link?? I’m sure it was just an oversight on your part. You can go ahead and post that here so I can read it. It must have been really hard to sit through knowing all the things that were not true in the film. I’m sure you must have watched it many times during your research. That must have been hard.

Also F9/11 was not beamed into the whole countries living rooms during prime time for 2 consecutive nights. (when the wingnuts get their education) I had to pay 9 bucks to go see it.
If they were showing this handjob lie movie in a theatre I would not have the same problem with it.

This movie doesnt glorify ANYBODY. The 2nd night is all about the Bush administration, and the screwups they did. The bottom line in this movie is that in the end, you dont feel like blaming anybody, you just want to go kick some Terrorist BUTT. It’s pathetic that you left wing kooks can’t even fathom that Clinton would do anything wrong. You guys have not even seen the film, so now you want to censor it. I didnt hear you guys crying when CBS put out that POS special about REAGAN, who was not there to defend himself. CBS ran it as is. This movie will be put out in it’s entirety eventually, and with all the fervor you guys have caused raising hell about it, it will just cause more people to see it. Did you call for censorship of Michael Moore’s lying assed movie where he used fake props and took people’s quotes out of context.
As for you saying that F9/11 was true and verifiable, there were over 40 VERIFIABLE lies proven out on that movie. He used newspapers, and switched around their headlines to make it look legit. He even took a maimed soldier’s quotes out of context and the guy is suing Moore now for it. You guys are halarious, and pathetic.

One other thing, this movie is based off the 9.11 commission report. The director of the 9/11 commission was on the set the whole time to verify each event. Clinton was NOT pure as the wind driven snow. There were screwups on both sides of our government. It’s pathetic the tantrums and crying and whining thats going on about this movie from you lefty “Freedom of Speech” pigheads. Stop your bellyaching and crying. You are just making more interest in this movie. ABC should run the entire thing and tell you pissant crybaby democrats to quit lying and just watch the TRUTH about the events leading up to 9/11 and how it was CLINTON as well as BUSH as well as our entire Government that dropped the ball on this. What the fu*k is going on here? Ever film that is made has some degree of fiction to it. Hell, in Texas the chainsaw massacare went down. That was a true story. But the movie was fiction. 9/11 was not a conspiracy as the new Bin Laden tapes show him with the hi-jackers before the attack. This means Michael Moore’s crap is nothing but FICTION. As well, as much as I hate to defend the sumbitch. As much as I know he failed this nation while he sat on his fat ass for four years planing for that all vital memo. This movie will have some fiction also. Not much, but some.

If Al Gore had not had the election stolen from him by Jeb Bush, Catherine Harris, and the Supreme Court, there would have been no 9/11, no Iraq, no Afghanistan, no secret prisons, no Abu Gharib, no torture, and we would be well on our way to solving our dependence on foreign oil, and reversing global warming. Also gas prices would be about a buck cheaper then they are now. by the way what happened with that BP oil pipeline? Wasn’t that supposed to drive gas prices up to 4 dollars a gallon. But now suddenly gas prices are going down???
Could it be that the election is only 2 months away. Right after the election the prices will go back up. But noooo, bush has nothing to do with the price of gas.
