ROCK HILL, S.C. – Democrats pulled an Internet ad that showed flag-draped coffins Friday after Republicans and at least two Democrats demanded it be taken down on grounds the image was insensitive and not fit for a political commercial.
The ad by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee called for a “new direction” and displayed a staccato of images, including war scenes, pollution and breached levees as well as a photograph of former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay doctored to look like a police mug shot.

This is the reason why the weak, spineless, simpering, whimpering, pathetic pussy’s who call themselves Democrats will LOSE AGAIN BIG TIME in November. They simply refuse to fight at every given opportunity. I cannot overemphasize how much disgust I have for them for doing this. How much more do they need to learn the lesson, that coming across as the good guys who won’t lower themselves to the type of ploys used by republicans on a regular basis simply does not work. The only Democrat I have any respect at all for is Russ Feingold, and Henry Waxman. There is no way the Democrats will let Feingold have the nomination, in ’08, just like they fell all over themselves to make sure that Howard Dean did not get the nomination last time.
The only real reason I can come up with, again, is that Democrats don’t want to win. They make plenty of money getting paid off by Republicans and they are all in the same boat together. Most Dems will probably campaign for Lieberman even if he loses the primary in Connecticut because he is a member of the club. I heard an interview with Chris Dodd the other Senator from Connecticut yesterday on Air America Radio, they asked him just that, if he will back Lieberman if he loses in the primary. Dodd refused to answer the question, but he licked Lieberman’s ass so hard saying how great he was that I am sure he must have sprained his tongue. If anyone other then Feingold gets the nomination, I am voting for Nader, and I don’t care how close the goddam election is. I have had it with Dems refusing to fight.

Thank you, I’m sitting here screaming at my screen. You voiced my outrage much better than I could. I agree, Nov. probably will not go to the Dems., they simply will not step up to the bat. I am so sorry for us all.

The democrats can still do some things to win. I think an add like that would do more harm then good. The more moderate ones need to step forward and try to rally support. I believe that add may have turned even moderate dems that don’t believe in the war off.

good post, but the democrats have been trying that moderate approach for the last 6 years, and for whatever reason it hasn’t worked. I just read on another site that the Republicans are running an ad showing flag draped coffins. So I hope you are right.

Well and one other thought and I want some other opinons on this. Don’t the politicians always try to be more moderate near an election?? I feel like they do, then once elected they move as quickly to the right or left as they can.
I think they all LIE to get elected or while campaigning. Once in office they are pretty much not going to be removed unless they REALLY REALLY screw up. If Bush does not fall into the really really screw up catagory I don’t know who could?

Hey, You’ve seen the light H.L. The Repukes and Dems are not anymore atagonistic towards each other than the Good guys and Bad guys in a Professional wrestling show. Or the Harlem Globetrotters playing the Washington Generals. It’s all just a dog n’ pony show put on to keep us subservient and hoping and controlled.

Good post, but I have not just now seen the light. I already knew what you are saying. I still think the Democrats are better for the county then Republicans, but there main goal is to keep the 2 party gravy train system in place. If that means they have to make some back room deals, then so be it as far as they are concerned. There will never be any real progress until we can get a viable third party, Dems. and Reps. will do anything to keep that from happening. Even if we did get a third party, human greed would eventually corrupt them to big corporate money just like it does to the current partys. Its just human nature I guess.

Let’s face it, the Dems are done! You know that I was involved with the Party and then I rebuked it. I haven’t regretted that yet. The more I see, the more sound was my decision.
Now, I keep seeing that the Dems are lost, weak, corrupt (as are the Repubicans) and have made no progress since 2000. They keep kissing ass to the same powers that the Republicans kiss ass to.
I admire your support of the Dems, but they don’t have any chance anymore. The Party is owned by the same handlers that own the Republican party. Namely, AIPAC and affiliated associations. Once you have a foreign power dictating American politics, the game is over!
The real question is: Who are politicians listening to?
