Did you see The Peoples Choice Awards, the other night. Fareinhiet 9/11, won a movie award. I couldn't believe it. How did CBS allow that to happen? I then uttered in frustration. "If this movie is the peoples choice for best movie, then how is Bush the peoples choice for President. It just doensn't make any sense." Then later, they had a second movie award. Passion of The Christ was up for that one and I said: It has to win, no way they are giving an award to Michael Moore, without balancing it out for the right wingers who love Passion. Of course Passion of The Christ did win. What a total "handjob" as my friend Bart likes to say, these award shows all are.

Mandatory sentencing rules eased

Excerpt: The U.S. Supreme Court ruled yesterday that federal judges cannot lengthen prison terms based on conduct not proven at trial, easing controversial sentencing guidelines in effect since 1987. The 5-4 decision, which included two majority opinions and four dissents, immediately prompted some Kentucky inmates to seek breaks on past federal sentences.
