10 Years for Growing Marijuana in Washington?
A 70-year-old medical marijuana patient, three of his relatives and one other person in Washington state are facing minimum sentences of 10 years in federal prison after they were caught growing 70 pot plants on their rural, mountainous property in Washington state — even though medical marijuana is legal there. “This case is another glaring example of what’s wrong with the federal policy on cannabis,” said Kari Boiter, Washington state coordinator for the medical marijuana group Americans for Safe Access.
