John Edwards says medical problem would make it tough to attend upcoming trial, seeks delay
RALEIGH, N.C. — Former presidential candidate John Edwards says he has been diagnosed with a medical condition that would make it difficult for him to attend his approaching criminal trial over campaign finances and is asking for it to be delayed.
In a motion filed Thursday, Edwards’ lawyers asked a federal judge to delay the start of the Jan. 30 trial for at least two months. They did not disclose his illness and filed sealed records with the court.
Mitt Romney says changing positions can be a good thing

I don’t want somebody who has made a decision on something maybe 10 years ago and, despite any new information, is going to stick to that decision.”
Federal workers: 2012 could be as tough as 2011

Romney spoke with the former president on the phone Thursday afternoon to thank him for his backing, the aide said.
