Daytime fireworks, a novel idea, I mean the video. (H/T HuffPo)

Scarecrow says: Good grief. That must be the worst concentration of stupid, mean, and dishonest ever assembled for national television. Our only hope is a Chinese cyber attack on the entire grid. Everyone go out and buy candles and batteries.

To which Eli replies: “Since last week, at least.”

Her are the listings:

Washington Journal.

ABC’s This Week: ABC’s Republican debate recap with Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos. Also too, Jake Tapper, Jonathan Karl, and John Berman.  Then Jon HuntsmanRoundtable: George Will, Donna Brazile, Leslie Sanchez in Washington, DC, with Des Moines Register political columnist Kathie Obradovich in Iowa.

CBS’ Face the Nation: Rep. Michele Bachmann, Rep. Steve King. Roundtable: John Dickerson, Norah O’Donnell.

Chris Hayes: Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) and others.

Chris Matthews: dunno.

Fareed Zakaria- GPS: Jon Huntsman.

Fox News Sunday: Gov. Rick Perry. Sen. Mitch McConnellRoundtable: Paul Gigot, Mara Liasson, Liz Cheney, Juan Williams.

Terry Branstad (R), Ted Koppel, NBC’s Senior Investigative Correspondent, who covered Capitol Hill during Gingrich’s tenure as speaker, Lisa  Myers, Republican strategist Alex Castellanos, and Chuck Todd.

Newsmakers: Freshman Sen.Mark Kirk (R-IL) spoke about his opposition to an extension of the payroll tax cut. “The legislation undermines social security,” he said. The payroll tax funds Social Security and the loss would be paid back over the next ten years. Senator Kirk denied the charges by Democrats that he would be raising taxes because it was a “temporary gimmick,” he said. Congress reduced the payroll tax for one year from 6.2% to 4.2%. It is set to expire at the end of the year but Democrats and some Republicans want to extend it and expand it to 3.1%, but Senator Kirk is among the opposition. “The Republican conference is divided,” he said…

Q & A: Major General Marcia Anderson discusses her life and her career as the highest ranking female African American in the history of the United States Army. Anderson describes growing up in impoverished East Saint Louis, Illinois…

Religion & Ethics.

60 Minutes: President Obama – Steve Kroft questions the president on a wide range of critical topics, including his performance in office, the U.S. economy and unemployment, and the budget woes in Washington. Howard Buffett – Legendary investor Warren Buffett has chosen his son Howard to succeed him as head of his multibillion dollar holding company. But as Lesley Stahl reports, “Howie” – a farmer – is no chip off the old block.

To the Contrary: Topics: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s remarks on LBGT equality and her remarks on the rights of women in Egypt. Then Secretary of Health & Human Services Kathleen Sebelius’ decision to not put emergency contraception on the shelves, despite the FDA’s recommendations. And then, breast cancer screenings can save women’s lives. Panelists: Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC); The Heritage Foundation’s Genevieve Wood; Judge and Former Federal Prosecutor Debra Carnahan; and Conservative Commentator Tara Setmayer.

Univision’s Al Punto: Alejandra Sota, Spokesperson for Mexican President Felipe Calderon; Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL); Dr. Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa, Johns Hopkins’s Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery & Oncology Neuroscience and Cellular & Molecular Medicine, and Director of the Brain Tumor Surgery and Pituitary Surgery Programs.

C-SPAN’s Book TV.

FDL’s Book Salon: The Tea Party and the Remaking of Republican Conservatism. “In this penetrating new study, Harvard University’s Theda Skocpol and Vanessa Williamson go beyond images of protesters in Colonial costumes to provide a nuanced portrait of the Tea Party. What they find is sometimes surprising. Drawing on grassroots interviews and visits to local meetings in several regions, they find that older, middle-class Tea Partiers mostly approve of Social Security, Medicare, and generous benefits for military veterans. Their opposition to “big government” entails reluctance to pay taxes to help people viewed as undeserving “freeloaders” – including immigrants, lower income earners, and the young.” Come chat with Vanessa Williamson about her new book with host Paul Street, 5pm ET. Teddy has more.

FDL’s Movie Night Monday: Addiction Incorporated, “In the 1980s, DeNoble was a research scientist at a major tobacco company, where he was tasked with finding a substitute for nicotine that would not cause heart attacks. He succeeded- but in the process, he proved something that the industry had been denying for years: that cigarettes were addictive. He also uncovered a new addictive ingredient- setting off a chain of events that still reverberates even today.” Join Director Charles Evans Jr., Scientist / Whistleblower Victor DeNoble and host Lisa Derrick, 8pm ET Monday.
