Cain, the only candidate of color in a Republican field large enough to include two Mormons, has been climbing in the polls while Texas Gov. Rick Perry recently took a big dive. Poll watching is akin to weather predicting, but it’s worth noting that a man who once may have been alone in believing he could win is now in a statistical tie with front-runner Mitt Romney. —PZS Links: Google’s trend data Gallup’s poll results for Republican candidates
