This weekend in my state there truly are Idiots Out Walking Around.
Every four years my state of residence soaks up the bulk of the tourism dollars it can get now that Kevin Costner cannot adequately pretend to play baseball. It’s the silly event known as the straw poll. Fresh off a debate last night which featured a lot of talk about “job creators” and, of course, “Jesus” and all his various tours across continents.
The straw-poll is a pathetic combination of corn-pone and bouncy castles and the media will gobble it up and serenely ask which of these maniacs and/or sociopaths is the one you want to have a beer with? They’re even busing extra crazy sociopaths in!
And what state could more fittingly do this than Iowa? For example, it is also State Fair time and we’ve thrown down the gauntlet to the rest of the country. We’ve just developed the technology necessary to put freakin’ butter on a goddamned stick and deep fry that bastard! Who better to choose the leader of this country in its present incarnation?
Especially if that person is a corporation, right Mitt Romney? Because in the Republican States of ‘Murica, the Corporations are people and the people are this.
