U.S. Bonds Soar Despite S&P Downgrade
U.S. Treasury bond prices “soared” today, suggesting investors are disregarding S&P’s downgrade and believe U.S. debt is still “among the world’s safest assets.” The stock market tanked, but “Treasuries are still a comparatively low-risk asset,” said Michael Schumacher, a strategist at UBS.
