This isn’t about equality. This is about recreating our fundamental institutions.

In the 19th Century the Republicans passed three Constitutional Amendments that are their greatest legislative legacy — naturally, modern Republicans want to undue them — and preserve the Bush tax cuts.
Well now that a Federal Court has joined a small number of State courts and ruled that Equal Protection applies to every American, I imagine that the modern GOP will re-double its efforts to re-write the Fourteenth Amendment based upon truly valid and contemporary documents like the Donation of Constantine. Thereby undoing one of the great accomplishments of the Republican Party, vintage 1865.
In fact, I believe we have an proposed re-write of the Fourteenth Amendment right now, fresh from the office of weak-chinned strongman Mitch McConnell:
Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside — except anchor babies who are not from Europe non-socialism branch, gays and gay anchor babies no matter where they are from. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. Oh, and no liberals.
It’s just a draft, they’ll keep working until they can at least save Michelle Malkin’s citizenship.
