It’s going to be a tough year for Broder, who for some reason loves writing political obituaries, by pretending he hates writing them.
Especially when they are Republicans who pay lip service to Pete Petersons austerity concern trolls. For example, Bob Bennett of Utah. Why did he fall?
“I’ll tell you what is new,” he said. “There is this thing called the federal government. It’s big and intimidating, and it’s out of control.”
Slow down there Bob…what is this Federal Government of which you speak? This big and intimidating government?
And what’s more, look at the abuse of power!
…they watched on television as Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi forced an unusual Sunday session of the House of Representatives to push through an amended version of the Obama administration’s health-care bill. “It was a Sunday, which is a very special day for me and my fellow Mormons,” Bennett said. “And it was really a display of partisan political muscle.”
But Sunday is just another day ending in “y” to the rest of us. Poor Bob Bennett, he was just like Allende to Nancy Pelosi’s vicious Argentinian Chilean military. Anybody see what Kissinger was up to that day?
