More time to watch and/or appear on FoxNews
So someone who understands stuff often comes to the opposite conclusion of the rest of the Republicans. Hmmm, go figure.
As much as I hate to cite Drudgico, there was a nugget in a Ben Smith article that reflects the way the Senate Republican caucus functions. A description of Bob Corker (R-Tennessee) who has been less obstructive and dishonest than a Republican is supposed to be on financial reform:
…he’s a guy who’s willing to get down into the weeds,” said South Dakota Sen. John Thune, who is No. 4 in GOP leadership. “Because he immerses himself in that and understands it so well — the positions he adopts may not always be the ones that everyone else in our conference comes to.”
Someone who makes an effort to understand stuff comes to the opposite conclusion of other Republicans. Seems like a pattern of behavior, ignored by the villagers who cannot stop loving John McCain. Just try not to notice who is in the Democratic caucus while laughing at them.
But at least modern conservatism has come to stand for something.
