Coup Leaders Set a Deadline in Honduras
With no real strategy or international support, Honduras’ takeover government is putting a 10-day deadline on Brazil to decide what to do with ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya, who is shacked up in the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa after returning to his country last week. The government of President Roberto Micheletti, who has been in charge since a June 28 coup that deposed Zelaya, said it will take “additional measures” if Brazil does not define Zelaya’s status.
