It puts the U.S. in a tough position but I think President Obama has handled this situation correctly by calling for the country to " respect established democratic norms" because of out rich history of destabilizing Latin American countries whenever we don't like their current leadership, the U.S. has to respect Zelaya's legitimacy, since he was in fact popularly elected. However, it cannot be ignored that Zelaya was clearly abusing his position and adopting an authoritarian posture.</description>
