The Tattlesnake – The Turn of the Screwed Edition
And Other Worms in the GOP Apple… Obama just made two very smart moves: 1.) Buying a half-hour of TV primetime on the Wednesday before the election. If he plays it right, this will be like a presidential address ahead of the election, making any part of America that still has doubts comfortable with Obama in […]

Palin Abused Her Power

Palin Abused Her Power
A report from Alaska’s legislature finds that Gov. Sarah Palin “unlawfully abused her authority” in firing Alaska’s public safety commissioner Walt Monegan. The 263 page report concludes that a “family grudge” was a contributing reason for the dismissal.

“Monegan says he was dismissed as retribution for resisting pressure to fire a state trooper involved in a bitter divorce with the governor’s sister. Palin says Monegan was fired as part of a legitimate budget dispute,” the AP explains.

In an attempt to preempt the news, the McCain campaign issued their own report clearing Palin.

Democrats Have Registration Edge
An Associated Press survey of election officials nationwide “found that as of Oct. 1, the number of registered Democrats had grown by nearly 5 percent since 2004 — outpacing overall population growth in the 28 states where information on voter registration by party was available for 2004 and 2008. During the same time, the GOP lost more than 2 percent of its registered voters.”

McCain Says No Need To Fear Obama, Calls On Supporters To Be “Respectful”

Black man begs McCain to bring up Ayers

Black man begs McCain to bring up Ayers

I thought it was odd that a Black man would stand up in a McCain rally and beg for McCain to take the gloves off. This guy is in the front row. So, was he just lucky to be in the front row? I doubt it. This SOB is a radio talk host on the conservative WTMJ 620 in Milwaukee. So any honorable man would have stood up and stated that he was a talk show host, who supported McCain and who stood to personally gain from spouting this crap. Did he say that? No! He pretends that he is just an average citizen who is begging McCain to take it to Obama. This guy, James T Harris, was trying to boost his own popularity among conservatives which should increase his listenership. What a tool!

(Thanks to Mike Mallory for doing the background on this weasel.)

October Surprises

October Surprises
WASHINGTON — We’re now into the 10th month of an election year, and the so-called mainstream media are on the lookout for an “October surprise.” For those too young to remember, the term was coined by the potentates of the press to describe a nonevent: the belief of conspiracy theorists that Ronald Reagan somehow thwarted President Jimmy Carter from achieving the release of 52 American hostages being held in Tehran, Iran, before the 1980 election. It didn’t happen; but that hasn’t slaked the thirst of print and broadcast “journalists” and “commentators” for a sensational event that will sway voters in the month before an election. What many in the media either don’t know or choose not to remember is that October has produced a lot of surprises for Americans. It was on Oct. 19, 1781, that the success of the American Revolution was assured. That was the day British Gen. Charles Cornwallis surrendered his army to George Washington at Yorktown, Va. Had this “October surprise” not occurred, it’s unlikely that we would be holding presidential and congressional elections next month.
