120 US war veteran suicides a week

THE US military is experiencing a “suicide epidemic” with veterans killing themselves at the rate of 120 a week, according to an investigation by US television network CBS.
At least 6256 US veterans committed suicide in 2005 – an average of 17 a day – the network reported, with veterans overall more than twice as likely to take their own lives as the rest of the general population.
While the suicide rate among the general population was 8.9 per 100,000, the level among veterans was between 18.7 and 20.8 per 100,000.

So you are going to complain about the number of vets killing themselves and yet none of you said a word about any other war vets doing the same thing. So I guess this is another one of your “only care when you think it benifits you” things and that is it. You libs are pathetic.
This whole thing sounds just like the Clinton and Libby perjury ordeal. Clinton committed perjury and obstruction of justice and none of you had a problem with it. Libby committed perjury and obstruction of justice and everyone of you had a fit.
I see how it is, as long as it is a Democrat doing it it is alright but if a Republican is behind it it is as bad as it can be.

i wounder how many of these “suicides” are caused by you libs thinking that they are baby killers and mongers of the worst kind, these people willingly put thier lives on the line for you and yet you don’t believe in them or back the up. (after reading many of the posts on this blog i’ve got to believe that this is the case) After all, we all like to feel that we are needed in some way or another. I’ve knowen many vets who have done much worse thing in thier time than what is happening in Iraq/Afgan and they were strong enough to deal with it and put it behind them when the subject of suicide comes up they call it the “cowards way out” and that is from a army sergent from veitnam who was sent on a suicide mission and lived through it

There if one key difference between Clinton’s perjury: He lied about getting a BJ and having an extramarital affair.
Libby was involved in outing an CIA agent, Valerie Plame. He WAS convicted of PERJURY and OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE by a US court. So, the analogy is another red herring.
Both Clinton and Bush are scumbags. Libby is full of treason.
What the country does see is that: both parties, Republicans and Democrats are corrupt.
So what’s new about that? Nothing new. Do some historical research on WHO founded the Republican Party prior to Abe Lincoln. What you’ll find is a bunch of scumbags and scalawags. Those ARE the historical facts.
And guess what party gave us the Federal Reserve Act, Federal Income tax, WWI, the New Deal (American communism) and WWII? The nice old liberal Democrats.
Both parties have an incredible record of corruption and deception.

As to Libby ousting a CIA agent you better look into the facts. Every Senior CIA Agent that has work as a NOC or worked with them will all tell you that a NOC doen’t us an Embassy as their address. Not to mention the fact that even if she had been a NOC at one time she lost that status when she started dating Wilson in 1998. So did Libby oust her? NO because she wasn’t a NOC to begin with. Her own boss in the CIA said that “Plame was never a so-called deep-cover NOC.”
So tell me Anonymous if her own boss in the CIA says she wasn’t a NOC than who is it that is saying that she was. Oh yeah her and her husband. THe same guy who said that the papers that covered yellow cake were fake and yet made the claim without ever seeing them. Along with a long list of other lies that him and his wife spewed.
Now you want to talk about the Republican party. Well why don’t you pick which Republican party you want to talk about.
If you want to talk about the Democratic-Republican that was founded by Jefferson and Madison.
Or are you talking about the Republican party that was started July 6th, 1854. And they started it for what reason? oh yeah opposition to slavery and their desire to preserve the union.
And who was it that started it? give you a hint. The Republican Party was founded in 1854 by former members of the Free Soil Party, the Whig Party and the Democratic Party.
Well look at that, Democrats help to start the Republican party because they didn’t believe what their fellow Democrats believed.

You first argument, that Clinton was convicted is true. Yes, by a civil court. Is that comparable to a felony? Try finding a job with a felony and then compare that to a civil action.
You make distinctions that are meaningless. If an employee works for the CIA, it’s a crime to reveal their identity in a covert operation. YOU are spinning facts here.
Regarding the “yellow cake”, the papers are a fraud, no evidence, no witnesses have been found to support that claim. But go ahead, keep the lie you promote alive. No big deal. Hopefully people on this blog a more aware than you and realize your bull shit.
We can talk about Republican history anothe time. This time, let’s focus on ONE issue. The Republican party and the Democrat party are both responsible for today’s economy and foreign policy. I won’t fall into this game of blame.

If you don’t believe that than why is it that in the history of this country the democrats have only cut taxes once and it was Kennedy that did it. The Democrats want to control as much of your life as they can and be able to tell you what you can and can’t do. THe Republicans aren’t trying to do that and never have tried.

As to the convicted criminal Clinton he lied and got busted. Not only in the grand jury but in civil court as well. The only difference is that the civil court charged him with contempt not perjury.
