MOSCOW – The Russian government under Vladimir Putin has amassed so much central authority that the power-grab may undermine Moscow’s commitment to democracy, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Saturday.
“In any country, if you don’t have countervailing institutions, the power of any one president is problematic for democratic development,” Rice told reporters after meeting with human-rights activists.
“I think there is too much concentration of power in the Kremlin. I have told the Russians that. Everybody has doubts about the full independence of the judiciary. There are clearly questions about the independence of the electronic media and there are, I think, questions about the strength of the Duma,” said Rice, referring to the Russian parliament.
HL’s Take:
Ok lets take that passage and change a couple of words to reveal the real truth.
HOLLYWOOD– The US government under George W. Bush has amassed so much central authority that the power-grab may undermine Washington’s commitment to democracy, Blogger HL said Saturday.

“I think there is too much concentration of power in the The White House. I have told the Americans that. Everybody has doubts about the full independence of the judiciary. There are clearly questions about the independence of the electronic media and there are, I think, questions about the Balls of the House, & Senate” said H.L., referring to the US Congress.

This Condoleezza Rice is a laughable character. To say that Putin has centralized most of the government power is hypocritical to say the least. Her script writer forgot that in the USA we have the US Patriot Act and thousands of other “new” laws dismantling the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. It won’t be long where criticism of the government will be a “thought crime” and enough to land one in prison. Rice is irrelevant.

so what, i should vote for a democrat that wants to take more of my money for a program that doesn’t work.
just what rights are it that you think you are losing because you have never had the “Right of Privacy” and the laws that were changed are these.
The USA PATRIOT Act introduced sweeping changes to U.S. law, including amendments to:
Wiretap Statute (Title III):
Electronic Communications Privacy Act
Computer Fraud and Abuse Act
Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act
Family Education Rights and Privacy Act
Pen Register and Trap and Trace Statute
Money Laundering Act
Immigration and Nationality Act
Money Laundering Control Act
Bank Secrecy Act
Right to Financial Privacy Act
Fair Credit Reporting Act
so unless you are doing something illegal you have nothing to worry about.

and if you read you will notice that it says “amendments to” which means those laws were already there. well how about that and no one complained about them when they made them laws. But now you are. Well if they were trying to take our rights away y’all are a little late, they already passed the original laws to begin with. Not to mention they were found to be legal.

Rice is a war witch. Not the brightest, although she poses as being bright. Putin knows he’s dealing with a sock puppet. Why bother with her? Even the Vatican told her to take a hike. Only the Israeli’s deal with her because she only takes orders from them. “Would you like to supersize your order?”
