American moves to Canada reach record high

Excerpt:
The number of Americans admitted to Canada last year reached a 30-year high, with a 20 per cent increase over the previous year and nearly double the number that arrived in 2000.
The survey found that 10,942 Americans came to Canada in 2006, compared to just over 9,262 in 2005. In 2000, 5,828 came to the country.

I have thought about going up there myself to check out the situation. A little vacation to Vancouver might soon be in order. At least up there I would have health Insurance, which I do not have now. Vancouver has legal Hash bars, and it’s right next to the ocean so there must be some surfing. I don’t know get up early, hit the waves, (in the summer only no wetsuit is thick enough for that kind of winter as far as I am concerned) then hit the “Bar” to work on “The Hollywood Liberal in Self Imposed Exile”. Hmmmm.

LA: Many Canadians, when they retire, move to Florida for six months and one day a year. This way they can spend the cold winters in Florida and summer in Canada’s cool air. But another major reason is they become residents of Florida and do not have to pay any state income tax.
Has anyone noticed that the Canadian dollar is now worth about as much as ours?

HL you have never spent any time in the pacific NW have you? you go play in that water and they will be calling the likes of me out to recover your body, it is not the calm under toe that you have in california, many people have never been seen again after playing out there. (on second thought go right ahead play hard)

I wouldn’t blame anyone for abandoning the USA in favor of Canada when every day tyranny lurks on the horizon. But what ever happened to the fighting spirit of Americans against an elite that take more and more and give nothing yet leaves the problems in your hands?

Good Point Friendly. I have been fighting against them for the last 3 year. But, when our representatives in congress. The people that we put in there to do our bidding, and vote to our will, refuse to do anything for us, what more can we do. Vote in new Congress people who immediately become corrupted by the money and still do nothing. At some point you have to cut your losses and get out.
