BAGHDAD — Roadside bombs killed eight American soldiers in separate attacks Sunday in Diyala province and Baghdad, and a car bomb claimed 30 more lives in a wholesale food market in a part of the Iraqi capital where sectarian tensions are on the rise.
In all, at least 95 Iraqis were killed or found dead nationwide Sunday, police reported. They included 12 policemen in Samarra, among them the city’s police chief, who died when Sunni insurgents launched a suicide car bombing and other attacks on police headquarters.
The deadliest attack against U.S. forces occurred in Diyala, where six U.S. soldiers and a European journalist were killed when a massive bomb destroyed their vehicle, the U.S. military said. Two U.S. soldiers were wounded, the military said. The U.S. did not identify the journalist.
Two other American soldiers died Sunday in separate bombings in Baghdad.
The military Sunday also reported three other deaths — two Marines in a blast Saturday in Anbar province and a soldier who died Sunday in a non-combat incident in northern Iraq.
Those deaths raised to at least 3,373 the number of U.S. military members who have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
US general says Iraq will get deadlier

BAGHDAD — A US Army general yesterday forecast a rise in deaths among American forces in the coming months, a prediction underscored by the announcement that a roadside bomb had killed six US soldiers and a foreign journalist north of Baghdad. Five other American troops died elsewhere over the weekend.
Major General Rick Lynch, commander of the Third Infantry Division, said casualties will climb as American troops dig into enemy territory as part of a stepped-up military operation ordered by President Bush in January. Lynch, who oversees a swath of territory to the south and east of Baghdad, gave his bleak prediction on the heels of the deadliest month this year for American forces in Iraq.
In April, 104 troops were killed, the fourth time since the beginning of 2005 that US deaths exceeded 100 in a single month. At least 25 troops have been killed in May, a grim start to a month in which Democrats are expected to keep up pressure on the White House to plan a withdrawal from Iraq.

So just how to you think we should get our trrops out without more of them dieing. So I guess from your topics on this site that you don’t care if Iran gets Iraq. And you don’t think much past the present day or you don’t care about the future of the US. If you think that the democrats are going to get us out of Iraq if tey are elected than you are mistaken, they will only make it worse.

H.L. Do you know what is happening to the Iranians that are staying to fight in the surge areas? They are enemy casulties. Dead Iranian Quds forces. Dead insurgents. Dead Al Qaida members. And punks on their way to the radical islamo-camps. Or as you like to refer to them as “innocents”. These people and nations that plot the destruction of America are “innocents” in your book. Well the innocent Amadinijad might give the innocent Bin Laden and Aman Al Zawari a nuclear weapon. But not to worry libs. If Bin Laden was to get caught in America he would get the full power of attorneys and courts. He would have the left on his side. Insuring his rights. Hollywood would pull out ALL the stops in his defense. Like he was their own!!

Sounds like Buck’s way to win the war is to kill all of them before they kill all of us. We tried that in Viet Nam and only stopped after over 50,000 US troops were killed and we finally realized what a sick equation it was. Also, the people he says are so dangerous (Amadinijad, Bin Laden, Zawari).. none of them are in Iraq. So even if we sacrifice 50 or 100 thousand GI’s and kill everyone in Iraq.. the bad guys will still be alive and dangerous. What happens then, General Buck?

“Also, the people he says are so dangerous (Amadinijad, Bin Laden, Zawari).. none of them are in Iraq”
So you think that Amadinijad is going to ride along on a trip carrying IEDs into Iraq with his Quds forces? There are Iranian weapons in Iraq. There are Iranian forces in Iraq. It would seem to me that a winner of a bronze star could see this already. No offense dude. I trust Tommy Frank’s intellect over yours.
“better to fight them over there than over here”- General Tommy Franks.

Let me see if I got this right.. by killing everyone in Iraq we will also have killed everyone in Iran because they are all actually in Iraq too. Interesting plan, General. Sort of a twofer. Bush and Cheney and Tommy were really smart to set this up.. now we have the Iranians right where we want them. At the rate we are killing them, we should win this in about 100 years. Pure genius.
