IRAQ STUDY GROUP REPORT

There is no guarantee for success in Iraq . . . There is great suffering, and the daily lives of many Iraqis show little or no improvement. Pessimism is pervasive . . . the ability of the United States to influence events . . . is diminishing.” (p.1)
“There is no action the American military can take that, by itself, can bring about success in Iraq.” (page 70)
“U.S. forces seem to be caught in a mission that has no foreseeable end.” (p.12)
“The United States must not make an open ended commitment to keep large numbers of American troops deployed in Iraq.” (p.xvi)
“U.S. economic assistance should be increased to a level of $5 bilion per year rather than being permitted to decline.” (page 87)

Read that last line again. So thats what this report is all about, It’s not about trying to end the war, it’s about making it OK to dump even more of our tax dollars into Bush’s mass murdering dash for cash. “Hey I got an idea lets spend 5 Billion a year, then we can steal even more of the money. Come on guys, the nation is not entirely bankrupt yet, there is still more loot to grab.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Without additional troops to ensure victory in Iraq, the U.S. could be more vulnerable to terrorist attacks at home, Republican Sen. John McCain said Sunday.
McCain, a front-running GOP presidential hopeful for 2008, said the U.S. must send an overwhelming number of troops to stabilize Iraq or face more attacks — in the region and possibly on American soil.
“I believe the consequences of failure are catastrophic,” said McCain, R-Arizona. “It will spread to the region. You will see Iran more emboldened. Eventually, you could see Iran pose a greater threat to the state of Israel.”

I absolutly agree with the report, but not the statement HL made about it being for the sole purpose of increasing tax dollars. I believe that Bush should actually read the whole thing before acting, but there is little chance he will. The entire report must be taken into consideration.If there is no futher action that our military can take, why dont we just pull thr troops out and work in a coaltion humanitarian effort until the damage Bush caused is reparied? I understand what McCain said, but its too late for that action to be made. McCains plan would have worked wonderfully in the beggining, and would have put the bloodshed at a minimum. The fact is, however, Bush never fully comitted the US to this war. As such, it is only right we end it, becuase there is nothing more our soldiers can do but make Iraq worse.

McCain, fallen warhawk in VN. He’s got no more glory in his wings. The VC clipped them when he flew an illegal mission over VN. Now he cries for more troops and death.
The Iraq Commission repackages the same old policy. Stay the course. Protect the oil pipeline that lands in Haiffa. Nice plan.

Well HL is having a fit over the US giving 5billion in aid than maybe just maybe you should look up how much the US is giving out in aid right now. $3 billion to $6 billion annually during the past ten years in aid to More than 100 countries and you are having a fit because they are telling you now that they are giving away $5 billion. Man are you behind. Oh and the top two countrys that get aid are Israel and Egypt. Go figure.
LA as for Russia anad China nuking NK dream on neither country would do a thing about it. China has already said that they are not patroling the strip of land that connects them to NK so you are wrong again. and if you dont thinks so than why is it that china says that they can’t stop NK because its to late.

Everyone has tried to figure out how to disarm North Korea. It will not happen. Kim Jong Il is not going to give up his nukes. The only way to disarm the regime is to destroy it. China could do that with sanctions but will not.
