The very first thing I did when the site started was to get arrested at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York. My arrest at the start of a march from The World Trade Center was later ruled unconstitutional by a federal judge. On New Years Eve 2014 the case was finally settled, with a judge awarding a class action suit that I was part of over $26 Million. Iran continues to develop its ballistic missile capability, despite a number of setbacks in recent flight tests. Since 2000, Iran has focused its efforts on the Shahab 3 medium-range missile, which is capable of reaching Israel, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and U.S. forces in the Middle East. Although several tests of the Shahab 3 appear to have failed, a ceremony was held on July 20, 2003 marking the distribution of the missile to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. The Central Intelligence Agency now considers Iran’s missile arsenal to include “some” Shahab 3 missiles. The fate of the Shahab 4 missile, originally planned as a follow-on version of the Shahab 3 and able to attain parts of Eastern Europe, is unclear

Iran has an arsenal of short-range, liquid-fueled missiles including the SCUD B and SCUD C. Iran is now able to produce SCUD-type missiles on its own, thanks to assistance provided by North Korea. The Aerospace Industries Organization, a subsidiary of Iran’s Ministry of Defense, claims to support the manufacturing process by engaging in “SCUD missile restoration,” according to its web site.

Democrats have a record of voting against the Strategic Missile Defense Program. In light of recent events involving North Korea and Iran, we need this program now more than ever.
North Korea has nuclear weapons and long rang missiles. They have tested them both. Iran refuses to give up its nuclear program and its leader has threatened to “wipe Israel off the mapâ€. North Korea has threatened the U.S.
House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi (Democrat-San Francisco) has said, “The United States does not need a multi-billion-dollar national missile defense against the possibility of a nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missile.” If the Democrats regain control of the U.S. House, she is in line to become Speaker of the House, third in line for the Presidency.
Here are just a few of Democrats’ attempts to kill America’s missile defense programs:
130 House Democrats voted to cut more than $9 billion from the ballistic missile defense program. (Roll Call 155, 5/17/06)
117 House Democrats voted to gut the missile defense program and slash its funding, putting in jeopardy America’s efforts to build an effective missile defense shield. (Roll Call 142, 5/11/06)

Democrats often wonder why many American people have little confidence in their ability to handle national security and keep America safe. They are hoping American voters won’t look at their voting record. If one does, their anti-defense record is clear.

TEHRAN, Iran – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday that his country has expanded its contentious uranium enrichment program at a plant in central Iran, a semi-official news agency reported.
“We have started installing 3,000 centrifuges,†Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency.
“This is the first step toward industrial production. We will be able to produce our nuclear fuel once we install 60,000 centrifuges,†he said. Centrifuges spin uranium gas into enriched material to produce nuclear fuel.
Now, why would a country setting on top of the second largest energy spigit in the WORLD have a need for nuclear fuel?? They are not going to play patty-cake patty-cake bakers man with the stuff! They want their eternal god mohamed to live again!!! Everone knows, some are just real scared to admit the truth!! Thank Bush for keeping a couple of Trident subs in the Indian Ocean! The newest wannabe member of the club announced on April 11, 2006 that it had enriched uranium for the first time, a critical step in the path towards making a bomb. But President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said his country does not aim to develop nuclear weapons.
A day later, the country’s deputy nuclear chief said Iran intends to enrich uranium on a scale hundreds of times larger than its current level. The UN Security Council has demanded that Iran stop all enrichment activity.

TEHRAN (Reuters) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Friday Europe was stirring up hatred in the Middle East by supporting Israel and warned it “may get hurt†if anger in the region boiled over.
“You should believe that this regime (Israel) cannot last and has no more benefit to you. What benefit have you got in supporting this regime, except the hatred of the nations?†he said in a speech broadcast on state radio.
“We have advised the Europeans that the Americans are far away, but you are the neighbors of the nations in this region. We inform you that the nations are like an ocean that is welling up, and if a storm begins, the dimensions will not stay limited to Palestine, and you may get hurt.â€

The first hints that Iran was developing a a medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) came in May 1996 when General Binford Peay, commander of the U.S. Central Command, stated that that Iran was expected to increase the range of its missiles to make them capable of reaching targets in Europe.[7] This was followed in late 1996 and early 1997 by additional reports that indicated that Iran was engaged in a major ballistic missile development effort to produce both a MRBM and a intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).[8] The MRBM, with a reported range of 2,000km, was identified as the Shahab-4, while the ICBM, with a reported range of 10,000km, was subsequently identified as the Shahab-5. The Shahab-4 would allow Iran to target Israel and Europe, while the Shahab-5 could strike the continental United States. These early reports further suggested that both systems could attain an initial operation capability in 2000.[9]

North Korean ship bound for Iran has been detained and inspected in India according to the Mumbai Mirror. Having run into mechanical problems and become disabled, the North Korean freighter apparently drifted into Indian waters where it was boarded and then towed to Bombay docks. The ship, however, was empty when Indian crews reached it.
“What is most suspicious is the fact that though it is a cargo ship, they are not carrying any consignment or goods,†said a Coast Guard officer. The authorities are now examining the freighter to find if any contraband is hidden somewhere.
Some immediate observations:
The ship likely had its cargo tossed overboard once the ship became disabled. The testing explanation is wholly unrealistic. Cargo ships do not sail empty, certainly not from a cash-strapped North Korea. Another possibility is that the North Korean ship was sailing to Bandar Abbas to pick up cargo and serve as a mule to transport Iranian weapons/equipment elsewhere under a non-Iranian flag. But a North Korean flag is no less a magnet for Western suspicion than an Iranian flag. Even considering the less likely latter possible scenario, what does this say of the PSI-led inspections of North Korean shipping enabled by the latest UN Security Council sanctions on North Korea? There is no mention in any report of a distress signal or call for help from the North Korean ship. It apparently simply drifted into Indian waters in silence. This is an important contributing factor that goes unmentioned. Indicating a lack of quality control attributing to the mechanical failure, as well as lack of concern for crew, the Times of Oman reported Indian officials saying that “documents for the new 45-meter vessel were in order, although life-saving equipment was found to be deficient.†North Korea is not in the business of wasting money it does not have, including on its expendable crews. This was certainly not a long-range ‘test’ as claimed by the crew. Note once more that this was not from the North Korean government, who has apparently maintained ‘radio silence’ on the controversy. This was a money-maker, and the lack of an explanation in over a week’s time is a clear indicator of nefarious dealings between North Korea and Iran.
Also note that this incident occurred originally October 29. If this were simply a test, the ‘official’ North Korean silence thus far is nothing short of curious.
An Indian official said of the crew, “They don’t understand English at all. But we are trying our best to find out the purpose of their visit to Iran since there is no conspicuous cargo onboard.†Why has North Korea not sent a translator in the week that has passed since the Indian Coast Guard first took control of the ship?
If the Titanic can be found on the ocean’s floor, perhaps a more curious payload now lies on the floor of the Indian Ocean near where this ship broke down. It’s likely a matter of the will to discover it.

Maybe Hillary would support missile defense if she had more money to spend! You can only stretch a dollar so far. Why not make these oil companies pay America her fair share? Why not let Americans decide how they want to live rather than the federal government deciding for all of us? I’m so sick of big business/big government! Give the power back to the states! Tell me why we’re spending so little to make alternative fuel available. Tell me why we’re so concerned with the oil. Why are we continuously destroying our natural resources with little to no emphasis on conservation? Think of the possibilities a new fuel could spark. If the bureaucracy quit chasing oil & looked at the potential in its own back yard. It would be an economic windfall. Herbert “Bussie” York of Sandy River Farms thinks corn has potential as an alternative to fuel oil or wood.A bushel of corn, which now sells for $2.41 a bushel, can replace 3.6 gallons of oil, he said. With heating oil selling for well over $2 a gallon, oil costs more than three times as much as corn by his calculations. Consumption of foreign oil has increased to 66% in the US. Tell me why earlier this year President Bush threatened to veto the Energy Bill unless Sen. Jeff Bingaman’s (D-NV) provision–which would have reduced oil consumption by 1 million barrels a day over 10 years–was removed (which it eventually was). Or the time he requested budget cuts for seven renewable and efficient energy programs, including research on ethanol.
Let’s get things straight here– America’s not “addicted to oil,” Someone’s addicted to oil, but in this day & age, we could do without it. The vast majority of Americans are troubled by our dependency on foreign oil, favor alternative energy, and want to see cars with better gas mileage. We may be addicted to energy (which, granted, is a big problem), but we’re not addicted to oil.

One test of how serious both Democrats and the Bush Administration is about defending America against missile attack is whether they are ready to use the ultimate high ground – outer space. The best time to hit a ballistic missile is just after blast off when it is climbing against of gravity and emitting a massive heat signature. This is known as “Boost Phase Intercept.†In 1992 a space-based system that could perform this task known as Brilliant Pebbles was being developed by the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization [SDIO]. It was canceled by Les Aspin, Clinton’s first Secretary of Defense, who claimed that he was “taking the Stars out of Star Wars.â€

Harman undoubtedly knows full well that Bin Laden, being Saudi, is Sunni- as are the vast majority of Al Qaeda leaders from Zawahiri on down. In June of 2004 Iran declared its intention of setting up an international oil exchange (a bourse) denominated in the Euro currency. Many oil-producing as well as oil-consuming countries had expressed their welcome to such petroeuro bourse. The Iranian reports had stated that this bourse may start its trade with the beginning of 2006. Naturally such an oil bourse would compete against London’s International Petroleum Exchange (IPE), as well as against the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), both owned by American corporations.

Oil consuming countries have no choice but use the American Dollar to purchase their oil, since the Dollar has been so far the global standard monetary fund for oil exchange. This necessitates these countries to keep the Dollar in their central banks as their reserve fund, thus strengthening the American economy. But if Iran — followed by the other oil-producing countries — offered to accept the Euro as another choice for oil exchange the American economy would suffer a real crisis. We could witness this crisis at the end of 2005 and beginning of 2006 when oil investors would have the choice to pay $57 a barrel of oil at the American (NYMEX) and at London’s (IPE), or pay 37 Euros a barrel at the Iranian oil bourse. Such choice would reduce trade volumes at both the Dollar-dependent (NYMEX) and the (IPE).

There is only one technical obstacle concerning the use of a euro-based oil exchange system, which is the lack of a euro-denominated oil pricing standard, or oil ‘marker’ as it is referred to in the industry. The three current oil markers are U.S. dollar denominated, which include the West Texas Intermediate crude (WTI), Norway Brent crude, and the UAE Dubai crude. Yet this did not stop Iran from requiring payments in the euro currency for its European and Asian oil exports since spring 2003.
Iran’s determination in using the petroeuro is inviting in other countries such as Russia and Latin American countries, and even some Saudi investors especially after the Saudi/American relations have weakened lately. The question now is what would the American administration do? Would it invade Iran as it did Iraq? The American troops are knee-deep in the Iraqi swamp. The global community — except for Britain and Italy- is not offering any military relief to the US. Thus an American strike against Iran is very unlikely. Iran is not Iraq; it has a more robust military power. Iran has anti-ship missiles based in “Abu Mousa” island that controls the strait of Hermuz at the entrance of the Persian Gulf. Iran could easily close the strait thus blocking all naval traffic carrying gulf oil to the rest of the world causing a global oil crisis. The price of an oil barrel could reach up to $100. The US could not topple the regime by spreading chaos the same way it did to Mussadaq’s regime in 1953 since Iranians are aware of such a trick. Besides Iranians have a patriotic pride of what they call “their bomb”.

Iran had invested a lot of money and effort to obtain nuclear technology and would never abandon it as evident in its political rhetoric. Unlike Iraq Iran would not keep quiet of Israel strikes its nuclear facilities. Iran would retaliate aggressively which may lead to the destabilization of the whole region including Israel, Gulf States, Iraq, and even Afghanistan.
