Florida Still Stealing Elections For Republicans

FL-13: Election Contest Filed, State Certifies Race, Buchanan Claims Victory, Calls on Jennings to Concede

Brad Blog
Excerpt:
In a press conference this morning, Vern Buchanan (R) called on Christine Jennings (D) to concede in the race for the U.S. House in Florida’s 13th Congressional district. In a process right out of the Bush/Cheney 2000 Florida Election debacle, the state of Florida certified the race today despite a 369 vote difference between the two and more than 18,000 still-unexplained “undervotes” registered on the paperless ES&S touch-screen voting machines used in Sarasota County.

H.L.s Take:
How about our new Democratic Congress look into this now. They got lucky this time in that the country was so pissed off at Bush that even Democrats could not screw up this time. However they are all up for re-election in two years, so lets get this screwheads in Flordia in prison and fix the election system already. (or do they want to lose again next time?)

Democrats to Neuter Bush’s Torture Law

Kill Bill – Neutering Bush’s Torture Law

Bob Geiger.com
Excerpt:
Bush loves TortureOf the many good things we are beginning to see before the newly-constituted Democratic Congress even assumes power, one of the most gratifying is the move by Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) to neuter the hideous Military Commissions Act of 2006 (MCA), passed by the Republicans, and signed by George W. Bush in October.

On Friday, Dodd introduced legislation to amend Bush’s “torture bill,” remove the almost-dictatorial powers it has given the White House and neutralize the bastardizing effect it’s had on the United States Constitution.”I strongly believe that terrorists who seek to destroy America must be punished for any wrongs they commit against this country,” said Dodd, in introducing this important measure. “But in my view, in order to sustain America’s moral authority and win a lasting victory against our enemies, such punishment must be meted out only in accordance with the rule of law.”

Bush Refuses to Talk to Iran, Wants Israel to Attack.

U.S. skeptical of Iranian offer of Iran-Iraq-Syria anti-violence summit

Harretz
Excerpt:
WASHINGTON – Iran’s offer of a three-way summit meeting of the presidents of Iran, Iraq and Syria could be welcome, but Iran’s Islamic government has a history of saying the right thing and doing something else, the United States said Monday.
In Baghdad, The Associated Press learned that Iran had asked presidents Jalal Talabani of Iraq and Bashar Assad of Syria for talks with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about possible cooperation to curb runaway violence that has taken Iraq to the verge of civil war and threatens to spread. Talabani was reported to have accepted and be planning to fly Saturday to Tehran.

H.L.s Take
Of course Bush is skeptical of Irans offer, because if he was negotiating with Iran, then his good buddies in Israel would not be able to attack them.

Bush: I would understand if Israel chose to attack Iran

Harretz
Excerpt:
Bush: I would understand if Israel chose to attack Iran
U.S. President George W. Bush and President Jacques Chirac of France met several weeks ago. Bush told his French counterpart that the possibility that Israel would carry out a strike against Iran’s nuclear installations should not be ruled out.
Bush also said that if such an attack were to take place, he would understand it.

H.L.s Take
Too bad for Bush he Needs Iran’s Help to get out of Iraq which no less then Henry Kissinger said is a lost cause.

To cope with Iraq, Bush has little choice but to put nuclear issues aside and seek assistance from Iran

Newsday
Excerpt:
President George W. Bush may need Iran’s help to find a way out of Iraq’s chaos. It’s that simple, and that difficult.

To get Tehran’s cooperation, Bush must agree to open direct talks with a regime he has demonized and threatened ever since he took office. That would require a sea change in the Bush administration’s attitudes toward Iran, a nation Bush placed on the infamous “axis of evil,” alongside North Korea.

H.L.s Take
Bush is trying to start a war (or get Israel to do it) with a country that want to negotiate with him, this is also the country that could get him out of his quagmire in Iraq. Of course Bush is against any of this. We are never leaving Iraq, why do you think we are building dozens of permanent military bases there (through Uncle Dick Cheney’s Halliburton of course) Exxon/Mobile can’t profit (as much) through Peace.

Students Dropping Out of High School Reaches Epidemic Levels

ABC
Excerpt:
Bush has a plan for the nations high school dropoutsNov. 20, 2006 — In several of the largest school systems across the country — from Baltimore to Cleveland to Atlanta and Oakland, Calif. — half of the students are dropping out.
And the problem is not only in the big cities.

The implications from dropping out of high school are enormous, including a higher risk of poverty and even an abbreviated life span.

H.L.s Take:
So what is our education President going to do about this? Absolutely Nothing. More drop outs equals more volunteers for the U.S. Military, and they need all the volunteers they can get. “Hey Kids, don’t worry about school, there will always be a job waiting for you in the U.S. Army, you can explore strange new lands like Iraq, Iran, and Syria. Just keep on watching American Idol, and Dancing with the Stars, don’t worry about studying. We’ll be here when you turn 18. Sincerly George W. Bush. Commander-in-chief. U.S. Armed Forces.

Feds Know 9/11 Responders Are Dying Due to Even More of Their Lies

Plans For 9/11 Responder Autopsies Scrapped

ABC
Excerpt:
NEW YORK — The federal government is abandoning an effort to create standard autopsy guidelines that could document a link between toxic air at ground zero and the deaths of Sept. 11 rescue workers.
Concerns have been raised that the information collected could be misinterpreted or misapplied.
The CDC’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health says it will instead pursue “other avenues for documenting long-term health effects from exposure to air contaminants from the World Trade Center disaster.”

H.L.s Take
Translation: Concern has been raised that information collected could implicate Bush and the Republicans about lying that the air at ground zero was safe to breath, therby killing even more people at the WTC then the ones that died on 9/11

Bush, Nixon to Appear on The New U.S. Dollar

U.S. mint pushes new $1 coin

CNN Money
Excerpt:
Bush won’t even be good enough for
the penny after they stop making them.

Bush wants to be n the dollar coinWASHINGTON (Reuters) — The U.S. Mint is hoping that Martin Van Buren and Millard Fillmore can do what Susan B. Anthony and Sacagawea couldn’t – get Americans to use dollar coins.

The Mint on Monday revealed the design of the new U.S. $1 coin, which will be issued in a series that will eventually include the faces of each U.S. president.

Design of the new $1 coin, part of series that will include the faces of each U.S. President.

It will release four new presidential dollars each year, starting with George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison in 2007. The Van Buren dollar will be released in 2008 and the Fillmore in 2010.

Richard M. Nixon, who resigned in disgrace in 1974 in the wake of the Watergate scandal, will appear on the coin in 2016.

H.L.s Take
This is a move by Bush to legitimize him in History. By the time the Nixon coin comes out in 2016, no one will remember what an A**hole he was, People will think, “hey he was another President just like Abe Lincoln and John Kennedy. It won’t work, Bush will go down in History as the worst President ever by far, and someone will stop this travesty way before then.

New Evidence Linking CIA to Bobby Kennedy Murder

Did the CIA kill Bobby Kennedy?

Guardian UK
Excerpt:
In 1968, Robert Kennedy seemed likely to follow his brother, John, into the White House. Then, on June 6, he was assassinated – apparently by a lone gunman. But Shane O’Sullivan says he has evidence implicating three CIA agents in the murder…
Three years ago, I started writing a screenplay about the assassination of Robert Kennedy, caught up in a strange tale of second guns and “Manchurian candidates” (as the movie termed brainwashed assassins). As I researched the case, I uncovered new video and photographic evidence suggesting that three senior CIA operatives were behind the killing. I did not buy the official ending that Sirhan acted alone, and started dipping into the nether-world of “assassination research”, crossing paths with David Sanchez Morales, a fearsome Yaqui Indian.

Update: Complete UCLA Taser Video

Posted in H.L. News, Main Blog (All Posts), Videos on November 17th, 2006 3:09 pm by HL

We had a story earlier today about Mostafa Tabatabainejad, a student at UCLA who refused to show his student ID in a library after Security racially profiled him and approached him randomly. We had a partial video, and interview earlier, but here is the complete video. I was sickened as I watched it. If I was there I would have found a heavy object and beat that rent a cop over his head and knocked his ass out. Why didn’t those students try to stop the beating? F**king Cowards.

The Democrats are having a shameful fight that will destroy the party. The Republicans welcome back racist Trent Lott who wins by a mere one vote is a “remarkable comeback story” and we hardly get a mention of that from your “liberal” media. (more)

Russ Feingold Again intoduces Legislation For Iraq Pullout

Posted in H.L. News, Main Blog (All Posts) on November 17th, 2006 2:31 pm by HL

A Way Out Of Iraq by Sen. Russ Feingold

Tom Paine.com
Excerpt:
On Tuesday, I introduced legislation requiring U.S. forces to redeploy from Iraq by July 1, 2007. My legislation recognizes that a target date for the redeployment of U.S. troops from Iraq will help pressure the Iraqis to get their political house in order. Simply announcing when we will begin redeployment, without any end date, is unlikely to put adequate pressure on the Iraqis.

A target date isn’t just critical to our Iraq policy, it is essential for our national security policy. We cannot adequately focus on the pressing national security challenges we face around the globe when so many of our brave troops are in Iraq, and so many billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars are being spent there. A timetable ensures that we can refocus our resources on fighting terrorist networks and on addressing trouble spots around the world that threaten our national security.

Because problems in Iraq won’t dry up overnight, my legislation would allow for a minimal level of U.S. forces to remain in Iraq for targeted counterterrorism activities, training of Iraqi security forces, and the protection of U.S. infrastructure and personnel.

H.L.s Take:
Russ won’t run for President, but we get Tom Nosack to run. What is wrong with this country?
