The Republicans Disgusting Lying robo-call barrage

Posted in H.L. News, Main Blog (All Posts) on November 6th, 2006 11:38 am by HL

Once again lying Republican are doing everything they can to make the rest of our lives miserable. Now they are barraging people (especially those with hispanic surnames) with unsolicited phone calls, that lie and smear Democrats.

The GOP’s nasty dishonest robo-call barrage

Daily Kos
Excerpt:
What we’re seeing is an apparent coordinated effort from the NRCC — the House GOP committee — to place calls that appear to be from the local Democratic candidate and then automatically call the same number back as many as seven or eight times each time the caller hang-ups. If the caller listens to the whole message it goes on to bash the Democratic candidate. But if the caller hangs up prematurely, the computer calls right back. Hang-ups are the achilles heal of robo-calls. So this seems to be an attempt to cover for that weakness by making those who hang up think the Democratic candidate is basically harassing them with phone calls. The GOP wins either way.
In some states (like NH), these calls are banned. But it doesn’t matter to the amoral Republicans.

GOP ‘robocall’ tactics make me sick

Philly.com
Excerpt:
My God, the phone calls! Just as I’d begin to drift off to sleep, the phone would ring and it would be YET ANOTHER DAMN COMPUTERIZED MESSAGE ABOUT LOIS MURPHY.

One, two, three, four times a day it seemed, the phone rang with “robocalls” about the Democratic challenger to incumbent GOP Rep. Jim Gerlach in one of the nastiest races in the country.
I never listened to one word of it, just slammed the phone down and seethed with resentment.
Now, there’s an effective campaign strategy, I thought: Infuriate the voters so much that they won’t vote.
What part of “Do Not Call” don’t campaign advisers get?

H.L.s Take
Its happening in Philadelphia, and all over the country. The Republican Party: Never stop lying, and making life hell for anyone who does not agree with you.
