Barack Obama at Phil Angleides Get Out The Vote Rally

Posted in Latest Stories & Articles by H.L., Main Blog (All Posts), Videos on October 28th, 2006 11:40 am by HL

It was a perfect Southern California day for a Political Rally, The California Democratic Party put on a get out the vote rally at USC, which featured many prominent High ranking Democrats from throughout the state. The message of the day is that the Democrats are taking back California, and the nation this election day.
Lots of people want bush out

A large raucous crowd had gathered and were wildly cheering the speakers who included, John Garamendi, who worked in the Clinton administration, Fabian Nunez, and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Steve Westley was there, he was Angledies opponent in the primaries, and had some nice things to say. Angleides and Westly might not have had to have this rally had they not slammed each other so hard in their primary commercials it allowed Arnold to take the lead by sitting back and doing nothing, but that was all forgotten today. The Mayor urged the people who attended the rally to get out there, talk to people, and knock on doors, to get everyone you know to get out there and vote on November 7,

Democratic political rally at uscUp next was the candidate himself Phil Angleides. He talked about running against Schwarzeneggar, and how Arnold is now pretending to not be a Republican anymore, and distancing himself from Bush like eveyone else is these days. Anglelides assured the crowd that Arnold is still a Republican and is just saying what he needs to say for now to try to win the election, including trying to woo his Hollywood Liberal friends with big dinner parties in Beverly Hills.

Democratic political rally at uscThe crowd had been getting more and more worked up as the afternoon went. There was some great old time political speechmaking going on, Angelides, and the Mayor were great at getting the crowd worked up. Then it was time for the main man of the afternoon, who had the crowd in a frenzy, as he took the stage. The Senator from Illinois Barack Obama. He spoke of the time he spent in Los Angeles at Occidental College, as well as while working as a civil rights attorney after graduating from Harvard. He acknowledged that it sometimes its easy to get discouraged with politics especially in light of what has been going on in the past 6 years, but that he has hope and is willing to fight for it. He encouraged the audience to do the same. Once again exhorting the faithful to get out there and make it happen. Make sure everyone you know is going to get out there and vote this election day. Talk to your friends and neighbors. That’s what I am doing right now. The people that read this site are my friends and neighbors even if we have never met. I don’t have to tell you who to vote for, you already know, Just get out there and make it happen.

  1. Bill Says:

Ok so the Lib’s are going nuts over the Black Bill Clinton. That is all that Barack is. His family is just a big a crooks as Clinton. In fact he isn’t any better than Clinton. Before you start putting him in the Presidency you better find out what he is in to HL.

  2. Bill Says:

I was wrong about his family. I was thinking of someone else. But Barack I am not. Barack supports gun control, illegal aliens. He voted for giving Foreign aid to countrys that sustained human rights abuses, he voted NO on increasing the minimum wage, He voted NO to redeploy troops out of Iraq, He voted NO to Maintains the requirement that refiners phase MTBE (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether) out of gasoline production, and in its place produce 8 billion gallons of renewable fuels, such as cellulosic biomass ethanol and biodisel, per year by 2012
LA you love America you’ll like this, he vote NO to prohibit burning the flag. Yeah this guy is real good for the US.

  3. HL Says:

Bill, once again coming on here and telling bald face lies, with no verification for what you are saying. I don’t know why you bother, do you think you are going to influence the vote opinion of people that read this site??? I don’t know too much about Obama’s record but when I saw where you said he voted agaisnt minumum wage increase, I could not believe that. so I did a little research. This is from
    On The Issues.com

“Obama was the driving force behind Illinois’ Earned Income Tax Credit, which has provided more than $100 million in tax relief to working families. He was the chief sponsor of the law that exempts Illinois from the Bush Administration’s new federal overtime rules and protects overtime pay for thousands of Illinois workers. He voted to increase the minimum wage to $6.50 an hour. He sponsored a law that ensures workers have advance warning if their employer is about to conduct a mass lay-off.”

So how much if what else you wrote is wrong. When I say I don’t have time to come on here and debunk all your BS, thats what I mean. So Verify what you say or it will be deleted.

  4. HL Says:

Actually Bill, If you read the link that YOU posted you will see that the “Minimum Wage” Bill that Obama voted no on is actually the “Death/EstateTax and Minimum Wage Bill of 2006”

and if you read the description it says:

“Vote on a motion to invoke CLOTURE on a bill that increases the federal minimum wage to $7.25 by June 2009 and increases the “Death/Estate Tax” exemptions to $5 million by 2015 and extends many other expiring tax provisions (Sec. 401) (Sec. 101)”

    This is from http://www.senate.gov

CLOTURE – The only procedure by which the Senate can vote to place a time limit on consideration of a bill or other matter, and thereby overcome a filibuster. Under the cloture rule (Rule XXII), the Senate may limit consideration of a pending matter to 30 additional hours, but only by vote of three-fifths of the full Senate, normally 60 votes.

So Obama was not voting no on increasing the minimum wage. He was voting no on placing a time constraint on the vote.

And I just wasted another half hour proving your ass wrong AGAIN.

Stop posting this BS you are wasting my time, and I won’t have it.
