Movie Review: The War Tapes

Straight from the front lines of Iraq, comes a new documentary movie called “The War Tapes.” It is the true story of 3 soldiers from the New Hampshire National Guard, who were given cameras, and volunteered to go out and film what they saw and did while they were on a one year tour in Iraq. The soldiers from Charlie company 3rd Battalion of the 172nd Infantry Regiment, were sent to Camp Anaconda in the Sunni Triangle, are
Sgt. Stephen Pink, Sgt. Zack Bazzi, and Specialist Mike Moriarity.
The 3 men take their cameras with them wherever they go and shoot everything they see. Right near the beginning of the film they explain their main duty in Iraq which is to accompany KBR/Halliburton trucks which are carrying supplies, and food. While they are in their convoy the trucks are often attacked by insurgents with IED’s, (Improvised Exploding Devices) on almost every trip there is an explosion nearby, Caused by insurgent attacks, the soldiers then try to fight back. The main problem always seems to be that they do not know where the blast came from so they fire hundreds or thousands of rounds into the darkness in hopes of hitting the unseen attackers.
In a series of voiceovers of the men one of the real reasons for the war is explained.. I paraphrase: KBR (Kellogg, Brown, and Root)/Halliburton controls everything over here. They have their hand in every single thing that goes on, and they are making a huge profit on all of it. KBR/Halliburton is the company who’s former CEO is Dick Cheney, Cheney also still owns thousands of shares of stock in the company (433,333 to be exact) and is therefore a war profiteer.†They guard the trucks that carry food, soda, ammo, and fuel all of which Halliburton makes the army pay obscene amounts of money for.

Would someone tell me what the difference is between Halliburton and say the shipyards that build our aircraft carriers. Lets see nothing. There is only one company that builds our carriers, a different company that builds our Subs. You are sitting here bashing Cheney because he has shares in a company that he WORKED for, past tense and yet no one says anything about Clinton removing a national protection law on property so that a company that GORE owns around a THIRD of could go in and get the oil. Now who is calling the kettle black. You want to bash on a Con because of what he used to do than you better bash on your own guys for the same thing rather than defend them. Unbelievable

Oh and another thing what these soldiers wives, girlfriends, or what ever were saying about they are not the same, maybe you should look at anyone that has been in a war they are never the same. Every Vet out there that served in a war never gets rid of what they saw they just learn to deal with it. That’s part of keeping your country free.

I don’t recall Clinton/Gore starting a war that killed tens of thousands of people in order to put money into the hands of a corporation, but maybe I’m forgetting something…

So we were just suppose to sit on our hands and do nothing about 911. Well maybe just maybe if Clinton would have done something about Bin Laden than we wouldn’t have lost those 3000 people in New York and we wouldn’t be in Iraq right now. But than who knows. But than if you read the 1 sentance in the NIE report than us being in Iraq isn’t dong any good either. Oh and don’t fro get the 1 point that the generals made about us being there. Never mind the rest of the things that were written or that they said. Right Imz
Of course you can’t find any of the things that I am saying becuse you haven’t heard it on TV.
Why don’t you try reading the 911 commission report you might find out YOUR WRONG

The 9/11 commission? Wasn’t that the one that Bush fought against? Wasn’t that the one that Bush refused to testify at? Wasn’t that the one that Bush finally agreed to testify at only if he didn’t have to do so under oath and only as long as Uncle Dick could sit next to him and tell him what lies to say. Why would I read a report that was based on lies????

Here are some excerpts from the story I linked to above.
Bush and Cheney did not testify before the panel — they were not under oath and there was to be no recording made of the session nor a stenographer in the room.
Clarke was critical of the Bush administration in his testimony before the commission, saying it considered terrorism “important” but not “urgent” before the 9/11 attacks. (Clarke vs. Rice: Excerpts from testimony)
The commission recently held a series of public hearings, during which some witnesses faulted Bush’s anti-terrorism policies before the 9/11 attacks.

Now you aren’t going to believe the 9/11 report. Why not it was written by a bipartisan committee that all came to a consonance on the findings. And Clinton and alot of the other Dem’s keep referring to it. Just like the NIE report, you Lib’s and Dem’s want to keep referring to the 1 or 2 sentances that say Iraq is worse but you don’t want to refer to the rest of the report. Come on now if you are going to try to use something to try to show someone as a bad person than make sure that it is something that in total is going to hurt not just one sentance out of 4 or 5 pages. What makes this whole thing funny is that all the Lib’s and Dem’s are so bent on beating Bush in 2008 that it is sad. Here is a NEWS FLASH He can’t run again.

Dems may refer to the report I don’t, I knew from the start the whole 9/11 commission was a sham. first Bush fought it, then when he was forced to relent he tried to get Henry Kissinger, when that was slapped down he got Hamilton another Bush insider who helped them clean up Iran Contra. Bush didn’t have to testify under oath. Why would I believe what he has to say, its not like he hasn’t been proven a liar in the past.

Ya know what I find funny about this is that the “one closest to a Liberal” re-enlisted. If it was so wrong than why are soldiers re-enlisting. The media and the Dem’s don’t want American’s seeing the good going on because than they wouldn’t be able to bash Bush. Same crap the Lib media did in Vietnam Guys and you want to tell me that the media is a con media. If that were true than they would be showing all the good things going on over there not just running the numbers of our dead. By the way bet you didn’t know April 1944 10,000 US soliders died, June 1945 10,000 US soliders died. Those were just one month totals in WWII so don’t you complain to me about loosing less than 3000 troops to date. Am I happy about US troops being killed? no but they all signed up with the same understanding that I had, you joined and you are responsable for defending this country and that is their job. Wether you like it or not that is what you are there for. So the next time you want to complain about how many people we have lost than remember how many people lost their family those to months and asked themselves why. And for those of you who think I am a Ass*ole remember this I got a brother over there and no I don’t want him dead but he joined like I did knowing what he was suppose to do.
God help all our military

OK Bill once again opinion with no facts to back it up. So show me the stories about all the good that is going on over there. What good? People are being tortured and its now OK for us to do so for the first time in the history of our country. How about refrencing some links to stories about all the \”Good\” that is going on over there. How do you even know anything good is even going on over there. Because Rush Limbaugh said so. The place is a hell pit. Show me some proof that I am wrong, because I can show you plenty that I am right.
