Montana Senator’s Nephew Dies in Iraq

HELENA, Mont. Aug 1, 2006 (AP)— A nephew of Sen. Max Baucus serving in the Marines was killed in Iraq during the weekend, the senator’s office said Tuesday.
Cpl. Phillip E. Baucus, 28, died Saturday during combat operations in Anbar province, the Department of Defense said. It did not immediately release further information.
In a statement, Baucus, D-Mont., said the family was “devastated by the loss.”
Max Baucus voted to authorize war in Iraq in 2002. Earlier this summer, he joined other Democrats in voting to begin a phased redeployment of troops from the war-torn country by year’s end.
Baucus is in his fifth term in the Senate.
H.Ls. Take: He is in his 5th Senate Term, and hopefully his last. This is what happens to Democrats who lick Bush’s Ass. I wonder what Max is thinking knowing that he is responsible for his nephews death by voting for a war he knew was B.S.
Dem voters need to retire him so he can spend the rest of his life thinking about it.

It doesn’t matter if Baucus’ vote would have made the difference or not. The fact is he voted for it and now his nephew is dead. If he had not voted for it, then he would at least know that he wasn’t part of the reason for the war. Also if every Democrat had voted against the war, then they could collectively say: “This is the republicans war, they voted for it, they authorized it. Now they can be held responsible for it., They made their own bed, now they can lay in it.” But no, the democrats had to go along with Bush because they were scared (and still are) of going against the unelected boy king. And Make no mistake, every democrat that voted for the war KNEW there were no WMDs and the war was a big mistake. I knew it, so did lots of other liberal bloggers. If we knew it, then they knew it.

The world would be a better place without a lot of world leaders currently in power, out of power. Why don’t we start wars in all those countries too? Those Democrats should have been more concerned with getting George Bush Sr. and his sons out of power.
